Starting to obsess about numbers

So at PNC group the other night we exchanged ideas for favorite protein meals.  I wrote down some and came home and have been trying a few.  I also journal.  For example one idea was 3 meat balls/spaghetti sauce/cheese.  I had it for lunch and when I journal it it comes out to 425 calories.  My breakfast was another idea of yogurt/cottage cheese/sf jello/strawberries/cereal and that came out to 343 calories.  That's 768 calories and I haven't added in my 3 glasses of milk or dinner yet.  It seems like as soon as I add something to my dense protein to make it tasty the calories go up.  But I have been getting really bored with just dense protein and a couple bites of veg. or fruit at every meal.
I've been doing great up to now so I must have been doing something right this past 6 months.
Do you guys count calories & fat & carbs & proteins?
I see the Nut in a couple of weeks and will run it by her also.
(I think I'm obsessing because I want to get rid of this one pound to get me to 100 lbs lost mark)

Sandy,

You made it longer than I did......At 4 months is where I started to add foods because I was so sick of just protein.......That's when my WL quit...........

My nurse said 800 calories, and 1/2c. - 3/4 c. of food every meal. And to up my protein only........Well when you up protein you also up fat, sugar, calories......It's really hard......I eat 3/4c. to 1 cup every meal......Around 75% protein and the rest veggies, fruit, carbs.......I'm was just so sick of protein.......I know that's why my WL stopped.......

Good post, I want to see what others say......

I probably don't track closely enough, I log on thedailyplate sporadically just for a reality check on how much I'm eating.  But I do follow the plan really close - protein first, of course, and minimal carbs and fat.  I am more concerned with carbs than fat, A) because I've been diabetic, and B) because the wunnerful Nurse Barb has said on a number of occasions that fat is not as great a factor for us as the carbs.

If you go on thedailyplate or fitday or one of those sites, you can use one of their calculators to figure out how many calories you should be taking in to LOSE.  I actually had to INCREASE my calories before my scale moved after an 8 week stall!  Pretty freaky concept for THIS life-long dieter!

You are doing a fantastic job, Sandy.  The weight loss HAS to slow down sooner or later - don't beat yourself up for it!  Your body needs to re-arrange and adjust and tweak things.  (pretty crummy that it seems to be doing so at 99 pounds!!!  But still...)

You'll get there - just try not to obsess TOO much - you're too pretty to be frowning over anything!!

Congrats on your loss -- 99 pounds in 6 months is fantastic!!!!

Everybody's caloric intake is different to lose, maintain, or gain.  So just hang in there a couple more weeks until you talk to the nutritionist about you.  And remember, some of the ideas may have come from people who are farther out than you.  They may be in maintenance mode so they can do more calories.....they aren't losing any more.  So 400 calories a meal would be considered good for them, but maybe too much for someone not in maintenance mode.

Sandy....you are doing great. Don't be so hard on yourself.

Do the great job you are already doing and then talk to your NUT. I don't think there is anything to be concerned about.

I only count protein and watch the fat. I choose to keep carbs at a minimum. What works for me might not work for you.

Do't be so concerned what other are doing.....find where you need to be and go with that. You are doing aswesome so I think you are doing everything right. Gosh sweetie...99 pounds already...wow!!

Love ya....hugs.....connie d
