OT: Welcome to the RNC
...aka My HELL for the next week! lol Well.. not hell.. but it'll be busy anyway! Just wanted to share some photos from today. No need to comment!

The Republican National Convention is in town next week... huge deal for us media bugs.
It's estimated to bring $148 million to Minnesota.... so yeah.... I'd say a chunk of change at least, lol.
Elena, I did catch the 'no need to comment', though how exciting for you to 'have' to be involved with the RNC! Was so impressed, actually watched the entire DNC (yikes, now that sounds like D & C!?!!) It's in my blood to get so into presidential politics, and first, I'm aware we must fill our own shoes, regardless of how big our grandfather's feet were, though dear Grandpa was an honest two-term state senator who had stood on platform with John F. Kennedy when he'd campaigned in Minnesota in '61 or '62 (hey, I was five or six years old) . Politics were so different back in the day when more actually had integrity. Close familial ties with Humphrey, Anderson, Mondale and others, although I try SO hard to read between the lines of the races. have not always gone Democrat 'just because.' . Was impressed by the nomination acceptance last night, although it was surreal, with the media production, it so much like watching a feature movie. Will definitely watch the RNC. Doesn't matter which candidate wins--the only power he'll have is the 'veto,' in my optic-neuritic eyes! Hope nobody takes offense to my wanting to share here....like I said, what a relative accomplished was his doing, nothing to do with me, other than a child's view and adult recollection of an amazing experience. Ooopsie, gotta get to bed -- hey, I'll be watchin' for 'ya! hee, hee! Enjoy! hugs, Patti (actually, I will find political chat rooms for this free expression.....
Never let your memories be greater than your dreams.

Cool to see what it looks like inside, since there is so much hype outside (KWIM). Hope that all the stress is worth it. So what do you do? I don't think I have ever seen you on TV.
I work for the state and we have been "planning" for a year now. I can't wait until this is over and that we "St. Paul" never does this again. Now we get to deal with all the protesters and the HUGE inconvenience this is causing. I didn't take next week off but I will start work around 5:30-6:00 so that I can get out of town before most activities start.
Go away RNC!
