It's a Great Day at the State Fair when...
My family and I went to the State Fair today and had a good time! Even though I'm pre surgery, I had a few wow moments.
First, I wore my pedometer all day and I tallied a record 18,336 steps. That is really an accomplishment for me. But it will be even better to see that number increase next year in a shorter amount of time (assuming I'm post op then and not lugging around all the extra weight).
Second is seeing people you know but barely recognize. One was a co-worker who is a year post RNY and I'm not sure how much she's lost total, but dadgum she looks fab! And the second person was our very own DARLA!!! Now, I see Darla from time to time at coffee, but it's been awhile. She has just slimmed down so wonderfully and it's so fun to see her changes! She truly loses more weight every time I see her and the melting is fun to watch!
Hope you all had a great Saturday as well!
DIAMOND GIRL HERSELF!!! What a treat!

As for me slimming down more? I don't know about that... could be these fabulous new BRAS Elena "suggested" I buy! Keeps the girls up where they belong, so might have a bit of an optical illusion on the rest of me! Hardly matters -
I GOT TO SEE AMY TODAY!!! (And some purdy horsies, too!!!)
Imperfect does not = unsuccessful
The MIL and I were there too!!!! I saw no one.....WAAAAAAAA ... We need to get a list together next year for days people are going and maybe set up a quick hook up place to say hi to each other -- It would have been great to see you and Darla!!!! I had to work late on Wednesday to make the trip with FIL for his lung cancer screening on Thursday so I missed group again. But he'll be moved up here from Fairmont October 1st so my schedule should get back to some kind of normal soon.
AMY -- POSITIVE VIBES THAT YOUR SECOND APPEAL WILL GO THROUGH!!!!! You have sooooo much to look forward to!!!! It was such a great day for me compared to prior years when I was hot and miserable!!!! Just like Valley Fair -- I could have gone on for hours. Since I'm a freeze baby -- the sun felt sooooo good!!!! Wasn't winded when I walked up the coliseum stairs either!!!! YEAH!!!!
Elena -- I walked past the Haunted House and thought of you......No guts for me!!!!!
FYI on Fair Events for those who will still be going ~~~~~
It is Cub Foods' anniversary so I got a free t-shirt, mini back pack, coffee sample for at home, bumper sticker, cupcakes (I did not eat that one) and a 1x2 inch pork on a stick sample (yummy and tender!!!!). The coffee sample is called "Five Star" and Cub is going to start selling it. Proceeds from the coffee will go to support our troops, and the back of every package has the story of a soldier. Sooooo cool!!! the soldier being featured on the back of the coffee they had there was also there yesterday. Cool to meet the soldier they were featuring. Shook his hand and thanked him for his service to our country -- his sacrifice makes our lives possible!!! Since my BIL is on his 3rd tour in Iraq, it meant a lot to the MIL too!!! Had the coffee this morning and it's pretty good.
Found other WLS friendly foods too -- Ball Park Cafe had the best selection -- chef and garden salads, rotisserie chicken and chicken salad, etc. I had the chef salad and ate the meat, hard boiled egg and cheese -- great protein for the day.
Brought crystal lite packets with and had six bottles of water (bought one and refilled all day free) and walked and walked and walked. Should have hooked up my pedometer -- crap -- didn't think of that......
Hugs to all.....Have fun!!!!
