Has anyone had plastics?? breast implants??

I am just over a year out and have lost about 125 pounds. I am really thinking about getting breast implants(my boobs are gone). I looked on the OH web site for plastic surgeons in MN and there were a few and they looked good.

Has anyone had this done in Minnesota? What Dr did you use, or would you recommend?

Also I know that prices vary Dr to Dr, but if you have had this procedure done what was you approximate(sp) cost?I am trying to see if this is even somewhat possible for me to afford.

Any info or advice would be welcomed.

Hi Lynn,

I had a lower body lift and breast lift done by Dr. Michael Fasching at Westhealth in Plymouth.  I'd highly recommend him.  I had both procedures done at the same time, outpatient, so I saved on OR costs and didn't have any hospital costs.  I know there are others on the board that have used him too and I also know there are other great surgeons here in the metro area.  I didn't have implants, but Dr. Fasching does a great job on breasts...my "tube socks" are gone, I have better boobs now at 45 than I did at 16! 

My plastics were done in 2004 and I paid $11.5K for both procedures.  I'm sure prices are higher now.  But it was the best money I've ever spent!

There wasn't a charge for a consult.  Also, the fee I paid covered everything - including followup visits.

I had a breast lift with augmentation April '06 with Dr. Lundquist. He is with Hennepin Faculty Associates. He was highly recommended to me from several weight loss patients who had plastics done. He did 3 surgeries for me. I first had my batwings done in June '03, then my panniculectomy/abdomnioplasty July '03. I am very pleased with my results from all my surgeries. I have recommended quite a few people to him, who are pleased as well.

I don't live in Minnesota anymore, but would like to have the back half of a belt lift done....I only had the front done.... If I do, I would be coming back to MN and have him do it. I trust him wholeheartedly.

Thanks Peggy, I haven't looked him up yet but I am about to. If you dont mind me asking, About how much did your breast lift/augmentation cost? I am just looking for a ballpark amount.

When I talked to Dr. Lundquist in 2005, he quoted me $6,500 for just a mastopexy (breast lift w/out augmentation) and $6,000 for abdominoplasty. That was supposed to be all inclusive for his fees, the hospital/OR room charges, meds, etc. (done on an out patient basis) I haven't had it done yet, but am also planning on looking into other surgeons.

I had my initial consult with Dr Michael Fasching, based on recommendations from people on the board. 

My consult covered a Breast Augmentation and a Lower Body Lift.  The price quoted for both (and everyone will be different) was around $15,000.

The consult for him was free.  and it took me only one week to schedule the consult.  Some of the other's that I had contacted had about a month waiting periods for the consult.  And a lot of others either charged for the consult, or wanted a credit card to 'reserve' the spot.  I personally did not like those approaches. 

I was impressed with Dr Fasching and his office and I have scheduled my surgery for October 3rd.
