Know ahead of time that everyones liquid diet can be just a little different.  With that, my biggest advice is to slowly taste the items that you will be having.  The biggest mistake I made was  pigging out beforehand, then my body went into shock after I went on the LD.  Gradual is the best.

Next, SF jello, SF popsicles, and my favorite chicken broth.  Num.

Best of luck. It IS worth it!

I myself was a sweet eater.....So SF popscicles were my best friend, and it counts towards your water intake.......

Herbal Hot Tea......

Chicken noodle soup broth......The regular broth was horrible, so I bought chicken noodle soup and took out the noodles & chicken.

Good luck, Kelly

I think people all go through this stage of the process very differently.  For me it was the worst part of the whole process but I am so glad I had to experience it.   It really starts to prepare you for your new life after surgery.  I totally agree with Kelly F. on this one, if you have time before you LD starts gradually ease into it.   I went on like a month long eating binge before having to start the LD and then from day 1 of the LD I was so miserrable not to be able to eat anything I wanted.  If you can start now eating high protein foods and just avoiding foods with high sugars that way once your LD starts your body won't be in such a physical and mental shock and you will be all that more prepared for your new post-op life.

CONGRATULATIONS!!!!    YAY YOU!!!

Give up pop right now, if you drink it and haven't already stopped.  Stock up on Crystal Light or other brands of drink packets.  I got SOOOO tired of sweet stuff!  So the chicken broth was a GOD SEND!  I bought some of the Unjury stuff - which can be GROSS if you use water that's too hot...  There's a warning about that on the label.  Trust me, do NOT use water that's too hot with that stuff.  It tastes decent, and you really want to get a lot of protein in as it will help your body heal post-op!

When do you schedule your date?  Are you going through PNC???

CONGRATS ON THE APPROVAL!!!!!  Like the little gnome says "I'm on my way".....you are heading for the losers bench with us!!!!

Mrs. Grass soup with the golden egg.....Cook as normal and strain out the noodles....Yummy!!!  Lipton soup like this sucked!!!  You can do this with any soup....Just cook it up and strain out the solid stuff.....SF popcycles, SF Carnation Instant Breakfast.....lots of protein shakes.

Good luck -- just keep you eye on the prize and don't eat anything solid!!!  It's ONLY 10 days!!!

Girl!!!  You are almost there!!!!  I am so happy for you and Congrats!!!!

As others have said start now and ease the transition- sugar, pop, carbs....  The first 3 days on the LD were killer for me- I sooooo wanted to eat something-  Drinking things high in protein will satisfy you more- I loved the carnation instant breakfast drinks.  Sf Popscicles are good, but what I did not do until like day 9 is liquids from other soups, stir fry... etc.  I still had to cook for my family and if you run it through a strainer so you are only drinking the liquid- absolutely no solids- you are good to go- I remember the night I poured some stir fry through the strainer and drank the juice- omg! I was so in Heaven- LOL- Add spices to broth to liven it up- just make sure they are disolvable-you can do it!!!! Make your surgeon proud when he opens  u up and sees that fatty layer shrunk around the liver and you followed his orders to the "T"

Hugs! Cheri Lynn
