i really don't know where else to go, so i am sorry but i just need to vent.

i am one month out and i know that i have been through a lot in the past month, but i am just going crazy.

i started at 275lbs and lost 5lbs on the liquid diet. so at 270lbs i had my surgery. by my two week visit i was down to 260lbs. after getting out of the hospital last week i was at 268lbs. today i am only back to 263lbs.

i now weigh what i did when i give birth to my son, which is a HUGE and i am so very thankful. i would do this all over in a heartbeat.. i just wish i was doing better.

i know i shouldn't compare myself to others, but it's hard when i see people who had the same date.. down 30 or so pounds.

i have an appointment with my counselor next week, and i know i need it. i am just having a bad day and just needed to vent.

thanks for letting me get things off of my chest.

This is a great place to vent, isn't it?  I'm so glad I'll be able to come here and get help or just complain after my WLS.   Sorry you feel like you're not doing better, but you've been through a lot.  Give yourself a break, and for the moment celebrate that you're 12LBS lighter than you were about a month ago, that's great!

Vent away.....and no, you should not compare yourself to others --- you've been through a lot lately and the body is trying to heal itself.

One thing you HAVE TO remember over the next year.  When you aren't losing weight, you are probably losing inches

And you may be one of those who loses a few pounds, then a few inches, then a few pounds, then a few inches.  That is better for the later skin condition!!!

Give yourself another month....to heal, to work the pouch a little more, etc.  You'll be much happier then....believe me....there is no way this can't work for you.....

Smile -- it's FRIDAY!!!!

Oh there you are!!   I've been wondering how you are.   You are doing great......it may not seem like it but think about it...when was the last time you lost that amt of weight in a month and you WILL keep it off this time.   Your body is probably holding on to everything it can right now.   It's been through 2 major surgeries.   It's very hard not to compare to others but try not to as much as you can.   My husband hid my scale on me at first because I was just like you are explaining.   I would get so down because the numbers weren't what I wanted to see.   Let me know if you need anything even just someone to talk to.

You're doing fantastically.  I was kind of the same as you (I weighed about 200 pounds more than you at the beginning though so my numbers will look different, but the percentages are similar).  I lost quite a bit actually on the liquid diet (35 pound), but then once I had the surgery NOTHING seemed to come off.  I weighed 430 on surgery date 6/12 and I didn't lose another 30 pounds until 8/25 - 2 1/2 friggin months!  I was furious!  I put the scale away until today, my 3 month post-op.  You can see my update page for the information I got today.

Bottom line, it will happen, the surgery works, and when it starts to it will be like a train wreck (as my physician's assistance likes to say).

Vent away! I started off slow as well and then right around 3-4 months I could really start to see the difference. And then the pounds started to drop. Now it has slowed down quite abit but I still seem to be losing a litlle here and there. Everyone is different Hang in there!

As long as you are following your program, it's pretty hard to fail.  You DO need patience.  You DO need to follow the rules.  You DO need to factor in your Aunt Flo, she'll mess you up a bit every time she comes to visit.

And you DO need to put that scale away.  It'll mess with your brain as much as or more than anything else.  Just do the right things - then when you DO step on it, you'll have a HAPPY moment!!!  Nothing wrong with setting yourself up for a mess of those!!!
