Who has gone to the Gala's before?

I went two years ago, just three months out. Went alone, didn't know a soul. Was so glad I'd paid in advance for the hair up-do and make-up beforehand at the hotel--was a fun ice-breaker!
This year, my double thigh lift and mini-panni is October 20, and really cannot imagine being well enough to attend Gala twelve days later. (no sitting nor lying down for two weeks, only reclining--that takes care of that!) Bummer, though can wear THE DRESS for my part-time employer's company holiday gala at Marriott SW in January! Also looking forward to a seven-day vacation on a Mexican Pacific beach resort in February with my best gal friend (and new thighs and lower abdomen!!!) !
