Start Weight - 263
Current Weight 135 and making it work for ME !
I have a few songs that send me back in my memories.
The first is I've Had The Time of My Life..... From Dirty Dancing. This was the first movie playing at the old Cottage Grove theatre on the first night of their reopening. A big deal to us in cottage grove at the time. I went with my closest friends and a guy that I had a super, super crush on. When they dirty danced to this song, then he held my hand. I guess I still hold a little torch for him 20 years later. But it did deplete quite a bit when I ran into him this summer. I looked better than I have in years. He, not so much. Too much beer drinking and smoking.
The second is "Fooled Around and Fell In Love" by Elvin Bishop. I don't know why. Really, no reason. Its just a song that makes me wonder.
The last one I'll talk about is Faithfully by Journey. We listened to this song every year in high school when we were learning how to dance in gym class. one, two three, one two three. And because I really like Journey.
Boy, come to think about it - there are lots and lots of songs. Just remember I love you by some smaller group.
If you can't tell, I love music.

I'm like Kelly F - WAYYYY too many songs to be able to do them all justice here!! But a few?
The Pina Colada Song. Reminds me of Christmas break, my Sr. year of HS. My "gang" moved in with one of our friends as her mom was in the hospital having a very serious, very delicate surgery to open up BOTH of her carotid arteries. Her docs weren't very confident that she'd make it, and it was just Linda and her mom. She lost her dad at age 3. Scary time, but wonderful time to have the whole mess of us living together for a spell. Oh - and her mom did make it.
Anything by Steely Dan - reminds me of road trips to the Apple River, and playing their songs in the Jazz Ensemble!
Queen - We Are The Champions. Is there a school that DIDN'T rock this song?
Anything by John Denver. I either wanted to MARRY him, or BE him. Needless to say, I've had to make due with LISTENING TO him. (Still bummed that he died too young)
I could keep going, but I'll cut myself off here.

Imperfect does not = unsuccessful
Thriving on 'variety', can't pin-point one song--gotta be every song on my seven-CD set of Classic
70s
Rock--especially
'75 - '79'--college glory days!!!
Was definitely a "Dancing Queen"
at the Bemidji discos--funny how hearing one song just puts 'ya back to where you were, where you lived, what you wore, whatever jubilation or angst--that was when music
was MUSIC!!!! Then, came New Wave
, followed by a decent 80s phase
, then White Snake!
!!!! Ugh,then Rap
....and Retro 70s
!!!!!
Journey, Kansas, Styxx, Foreigner, Boston, Queen, ELO, Chicago, Dan Fogelberg ABBA, old Fleetwood Mac, Jefferson Starship, Doobie Brothers ****tc., etc......
Thank you Linda Anne, you come up with some good stuff! Hugs, Patti

Never let your memories be greater than your dreams.

Great topic LA! I agree with Kelly F. There are TOO many to name but for no particular reason and in no particular order....
I LOVE Hall and Oates...Sarah Smile is my fav...
I also LOVE Midnight Train to Georgia, go Gladys!, I'll Be Seeing You - Billie Holliday and The Way You Look Tonight - Fred Astair
Anything from Kool and the Gang makes me feel 5 years old and like I'm back in the back seat of my dad's big old car bouncing up and down
while leaning against the front seat.
Let me not give myself a bad rap and appear to be an old woman trapped in a 30-something body (I rocked Metallica in HS
) but in terms of feeling dreamy
...those are tops for me.
