I am getting to the point where they have asked me to pick a surgeon.  I have narrowed it down to Dr. Paul Benn and Dr. Bradley Pierce, but I don't have any more information about them to make a decision.  I've looked at the fairview website and tried to ask the staff.  If  you have any positive or negative experinces to share with me, I'd really appreciate your feedback as I make my decision.  Thanks so much for your time!

Hi I had Dr. Benn and he was great.  There whole staff there is awesome so I really wouldn't think it would matter who you go with.  That is only my opinion.  Good luck to you and let us know what you decide.   Keep us posted....

Hi Angela, I had Dr. Benn.  One of my best friends is an RN at FVSD and recommended I go through Pierce, though having researched, I went with Benn.  IMHO both are excellent and their program is wonderful, even two years out!  Best of the best to you!  Hugs, Patti

Hey Angela- Maybe we'll have surgery near the same time. I'm going with DR Pierce and have my consult next week. My OBGYN who I trust suggested him. He led the info session I attended and felt comfortable with him, the way he answered everyones' questions and with the breif conversation I had with him after the meeting. Will they let you meet with both doctors?

You have two VERY good choices.....the staff there is great, and with either I don't think you'll be dissappointed.  I went with Dr. Pierce because he led the info meeting I went.  Your in great hands with either!  Best to you!

Like everyone else has said, they are both great and the program is great as well.  I had Dr. Pierce and he is a very caring and compassionate doctor.  He is very easy to talk to and takes all the time with you that you need.  I am sure that Dr. Benn is the same way, although I have not meet him in person.

I had Dr. Benn, and I really enjoyed him. He was professional and caring. But like everyone said, either one will be perfect!

As all other have already replied - you are truly in good hands with either choice.  I personally had Dr Pierce and would highly recommend him to anyone!  He is very talented, passionate, compassionate and personable!  I ran into him 2 weeks ago while at the hospital for another surgery; he remembered me, complimented me on my success; we visited about the surgery I was about to go into (with the GYN he had highly recommended 10 months earlier) and stated very confidently that if he was needed in the exploritory part of the surgery he would be right there.  And I fully trusted that they GYN doc would page/call him if necessary - they truly have a great relationship and great bedside manner!

I had Dr Benn and couldn't be happier with him and the entire staff at FVSD.  He is a very caring and compassionate man.  To give you an example: I had a challenge the weekend after I was discharged from the hospital.  I spiked a fever, was really nauseous, and was scared.  Well, Dr Benn was on call that weekend and I was able to call the service and get him to call me.  He calmed me down and asked if I could meet him at Fairview so he could look at me.  This was Saturday mind you.  I went to the hospital and he examined me and sent me on my way with a new script.  He said that he was glad that I was able to come up to Edina from Burnsville because if I wasn't able to, he was going to come to Burnsville to check on me.  He cares.  Either way, it is a great center to deal with.
