With all the presidential mud slinging... the economy and obviously wealthy folks stealing to get more, how do you stay postive through all this?

I find my brain on overdrive.  One thing I do is no****ch the news...
You could say thats stinking my head in the sand, but I figure it will filter through to me.

So friends...how do you stay postive in these negative times???

Well, you know me and I do no****ch the news. That is first and foremost. Nothing ever positive on it and I gave it up a long time ago. Have never missed it.

As for the negativity around us? I trust in the Lord and I will not hide that or apologize for it. Plus, my husband and I have made smart decisions with our finances and we are both employed. We have NOTHING to complain about! Zip. Zero. Zilch.

Where I struggle is knowing other people are hurting and suffering. I pray for those who do not have a job right now. I pray for the countless numbers of people on the streets and who haven't had a meal for hours, days, weeks. I give to charities, but I wish my income was more so I could help more people out. That's where I struggle because I'd give it all away if I could.

And my final thought is that we're coming into a very important election year. You can learn about each candidate withou****ching or listening to their debates, etc. There are plenty of resources. We all need to exercise our right and vote this November.

Blessings!

Hey Hon!  OK....MY $.02 worth!  Yep, tons of ick!  BUT I am tryingn to focus on all the wonderful sites that you can check FACTS and sort them out (also using the FACTS to determine who is the best choice).  Who has the best character, experience, voting records ect.  ALSO, on a positive note, those crooks are being investigated and HOPEFULLY will be charged and held accountable for the crap!!!! (feel FREE to PM me if you want the sites)  As for the mudslinging....what do we expect when there is soooo much at stake?!?!

Also, let's stay positive that just cause there are a bunch of crooks that there are MORE wonderful people out there in this world(political or not) that have done AMAZING things to help out other people.  There are ALOT of wonderful caring people it's just we don't hear about them as much(unfortunately).  Want proof?  Just look at ALL the amazing, caring, loving, giving people HERE!!!!(that outta cheer ya up)

I write the news... so I don't really have a choice.....lol

How do I stay positive? Well, I remember that when writing news, there is always a balance of good and bad in the world... just like anything...

For instance, while Petters is stealing money, the city of St. Paul is putting money into a small historic island on the Mississippi to beautify it so people can go and enjoy the river view.

While the economy is falling, a former hockey player renovates an old grocer store into a hockey rink in Rosemount so little kids have a place to play hockey.

There's always a balance somewhere.... I stay positive by remembering the positive and laughing off the negative.

I wish the good was balanced with the news ... it seems to be such a smile side note compared to the bad.

Thank you for the other side of the bad, I think from now on when Im down I will write you and say " Gimme some GOOD news"
