New Dr.... anybody have any info?
Here is my $.02 worth:
I don't know this Doc. Do research, find out how many WLS he has perofrmed, go meet him and ask ALL questions, as well as check out ALL available Doc's in your area. Another tip I will give is make sure that your WLS program is a Bariatric Service of Excellence(they should have a certificate), but that is just MY personal opinion.
Best to you on your journey and WELCOME to MN boards....ask any questions as we have AWESOME people here!

I read this message, then re-read it. Is the doctor new to the practice? New to bariatric surgery? New to you? Or new to the area? Like others have said. Be sure to do your research because it makes a big difference. If the doctor is new to the area and has practiced in another state, look up that info. I, too, would check the bariatric surgeons who are part of the "elite" group of providers. I can't remember what they are called. But I believe one of the other posters mentioned it.
Good Luck! And welcome to the process.

Thank you all very much. I think he is new to doing the surgery on his own. I'll know for sure on Monday when I meet him. I went on a site (can't remember the name) and nothing was listed for work experience. Schooling was University Cleveland, so I'm driving myself nuts...Do I use a NEW DR or go with a very experienced DR. My choice was DR. Medlin at the Duluth Clinic, but they called and set up an appointment with Dr. Pitt, so I figured I'd meet him and see. HELP!
