For my one year anniversary I celebrated with a tattoo that I now wish I wouldn't have been so impulsive about and had done differently - but I still like it and am glad I got it.
Wishing you could actually SEE it, Tracy?
I LOVE my Faith/Frog tat - but where it is, I have to look at it in the mirror to see the whole thing! Kinda bums me out, although it is EXACTLY where I wanted it, I hadn't really contemplated not being able to see it!
But THAT, by the way, was MY reward!!

Imperfect does not = unsuccessful
I promised myself that I'd do what I could to be happy :)
Still rescuing dogs = makes me happy
Roger moved out = generally makes me happy (I miss the help with the dogs sometimes)
I wear pretty clothes now = makes me very happy!
Bought myself a re-birthday diamond right after surgery = oh yeah happy :)
lost almost half of my total weight by my one year anniversary = estatically happy! lol
I think I have a pretty good handle on happy :) not always but far more than ever before!!
my real reward has been being able to be ME!
*hugs*

Lori, wow! Look at your new avvie--you be a'smokin'! Congrats on all your 'happies'. I, too, broke off all ties with the deadbeat and can really see how it was dragging me down, even though I chose to see him just to get out and do the active things on the 'to do' list before surgery. Figured with Monday's surgery would be very good to unload the 'extra' stress. Wheeeeeeeeee! Thought I 'did the right thing' fostering his cat, but they just never got along, and my Chloe is back to her calm, sweet fifteen-yr-old self. Keep up the awesome work lady! Hugs, Patti
Never let your memories be greater than your dreams.

I'm only 6 days post-op, but I really want a Nintendo Wii, and the Wii-Fit thing, so maybe I can convince the boyfriend to get one after I've lost 25 lbs. I'd better get to work on that now, so he will finally say yes when I get there! Ha ha. Although, he did just buy me a horse last month as incentive to do well after my surgery and be down to riding size by next summer so I can enjoy him. I probably shouldn't pu**** and ask for anything else!
Yeah, I was really shocked. I had been talking about wanting another horse (sold my last one about 3 years ago) and how nice it would be to ride and show again after I lose weight from my surgery, etc., etc. I had been looking at a million ads on all of the online sites like dreamhorse.com, equine.com, etc., when I found this gorgeous 17 month old palomino gelding. He was the prettiest thing I had ever seen. So, I saved his picture as the background on my home computer so I could look at him and dream. I really didn't mean anything by it, but the boyfriend said "I get the hint." Seriously, it wasn't meant as a hint, but I ran with it. He asked where the horse was and I told him he was in southern MN, and that he was going to be in a show that weekend, so he said "let's go see him." Well, I knew at that point that my chances were excellent of actually getting him because the boyfriend is a sucker for my "I want that" face. Ha ha.
So, we drove 3 hours to the show grounds, met the people and the horse, and watched him in a halter class - which he won Grand Champion in. While we were standing talking to the people, I was holding the horse when he rested his chin on my boyfriend's shoulder...at which point he asked if I wanted him and I of course said yes, and that was that.
I'm still in shock and can't believe he's here and he's mine. He still has some growing to do before he can be ridden, but he's going to the trainer in March when he's 2. For now, it's just feed him over winter so he keeps growing strong, and I need to keep losing weight and working out so I will be thin and strong to ride, and lookout summertime!!
You can see pics of him on my profile. He's a darling, "Pretty Smart Fella" is his registered name, but the boyfriend calls him "Smarty Plasma" because he spent his plasma TV money on him for me!!
