My 6 year anniversary tomorrow
Tomorrow is my 6 year anniversary. Boy, time is going by so fast lol
Having wls is one of the best decisions I've ever made.....marrying my hubby Ken and having my daughters being right up there too.
This journey is a lifelong committment. My journey has had it's ups and down. Fortunately more ups than downs.
My greatest advice to give to everyone is, hang in there. Don't sweat the little mistakes we make. Stay focused on the bigger picture......being healthier. Listen to others that have had the surgery and can give you good advice.....to help us through the good and the not so good times.
Also remember that health issues can come up at any time and to do the best to stay on top of our health. I've had issues with iron, bone density and ulcers. I have most of it under control now, but am ever diligent to make sure it stays that way.
Be good to each other and to our selves. Keep positive people in your life. Smile often and hug the ones you love.
Have an awesome day!!!
Hugs to all
Peggy

THANK YOU for your input and advice! Around here, there are people who think of me as "further out", even tho I'm only 18 months out. I personally find it VERY helpful and encouraging when those of you who are several YEARS out pop in to share some perspective with us all! That your WLS is still one of the best things you've done, and that your life has improved as a result of it!
CONGRATS TO YOU!!!

Hi Peggy,
Happy Anniversary!!!
I can only "second" everything you've said in your post about being an "old-timer". I'm right behind you and can't believe how fast time has gone by.
Everyone on the board that is new...will blink their eyes and be one year, two years and more out from surgery and will know what we are saying.
Soon surgery won't be the first and foremost on their minds or on the minds of the people around them. WLS will be old news.
Congrats on all your success - keep in touch!
