Tummy Tuck
Hi Everyone!
I had RNY on July 18th. I am down 73lbs. I have been excising like crazy, but my stomach is going down very slowly. I have been thinking about a tummy tuck. Does anyone know how long I have to wait after surgery to get a Tummy tuck. I am too many steps ahead? Should I continue to view my progress before thinking about a tummy tuck? Are there any surgeons in Minnesota that will finance a tummy tuck? What is the estimated cost of a tummy tuck? Has anyone had a tummy tuck?? I am just curious about it.

Micah,
Slow down girl! You are only a few months out and alreay a huge loss of weight! The skin will go down slowly, but it will never be totally flat, that's reality. Yes, exercising will help. Maintaining your weight will also make a difference. They want you to maintain your weight for around a year from what I have found in researching this before they will do the surgery. So that means, get to goal, and then no more than 5 pound loss or gain for a year basically. Enjoy this time while you are loosing, and start saving up. Before the economic crisis, there were a lot more willing to finance. You can get a CareCredit loan, or a lot of people get Capital One loans, depending on credit. The other thing I have heard people do is borrow against their home equity or 401K. Good luck and great job on the weight loss so far.

Hi Micah
First of all, congrats on your weight loss. You're doing great!!
I had a tummy tuck/abdomnioplasty at 18 months out. Most surgeons want to make sure that you have stabilized your weight loss for at least 6 months. I had to have a an extra "tightening" of more lose skin at about 3 years out. Our bodies to keep changing. I stopped losing my weight at 13 months but my body still changed.
I don't know of any surgeons that will finance a tummy tuck. My insurance covered my tummy tumck/abdomnioplasty. My daughter also had weight loss surgery. She had a tummy tuck along with a breast lift and implants. She paid around $8000 for both.
Good luck to you.
Peggy
