I am still alive!

I haven't been on much since school started and barely at all in the last month due to a crazy, busy life.  I am going to try and jump on here a couple of times a week over lunch though just so I don't feel so detached from the community I got so used to.

I am still stuck in 170's and they don't really seem to be moving down too fast, lately it has been 1/2 a pound a week.  I did get a membership to Snap Fitness the only problem is getting my butt there.  My original plan was to get up an  hour early in the mornings to go workout, but lately I have been lucky to get up in time to get ready for work let alone an hour early to workout, but part of that may also be the cold I started getting this week.  I have done very well, with keeping the sugars to a minimum in my diet and have realized something that I wonder if others have experienced.  To me the sugar free stuff (i.e. pudding, ice cream, jam, sf pumpkin cheesecake dessert) tastes just like the real stuff did to me pre-op, but when I share w/my family members they think it is not so good or "it tastes sugar free".  I tried a little of something not sugar free recently and the sweetness just about knocked me over.  The other thing I have really noticed is that fried foods do not taste or smell good to me.  I have tried a french fry here or there and they just taste like crap!  I have also noticed when I am in the caffeteria at work that the smell from the deep fryer makes me nauseous, I almost lost it today when the guy next to me in line had a basket full of fries & chicken strips, just the smell....eww!

I am hoping to be able to get into a good workout schedule by the end of the month....that is my current goal, because my next goal is that I would really, really like to be a size 8 by Christmas, which would make me the same size as my sisters (and maybe even smaller than one of my sisters).

I hope to talk to all of you again soon and to meet some of the new people!

Love & Hugs to all!
Nicole

Hi Nicole!

It sounds like you're really enjoying your busy life and that's good!!  When we were heavy, we probably didn't do as much but now with our renewed energy and slimmer bodies, we can do more and feel better!!

I can totally relate to the sister thingy....at my sisters wedding anniversary, I had a private WOW when I noticed her dress was a size bigger than mine.  I never went into it to be smaller than her, but it sure is a nice perk!!

Best wishes and hugs to you!!

Edi

Oh how funny about the sister thingy.  I am the eldest of 6 girls and of course the heaviest.  My two heavy sisters are upset I am having surgery as then 'they' will be the heavy ones in the family.  Oh well, like I told them, it is not all about the weight.  I have other issues to deal with to, that is why I am having surgery.  But, I can sure relate to wanting to be small or smaller than sisters.

Nicole, Hi! Glad you posted today. Way to go signing up at Snap. It's the first step. I think it's great that your tastes have changed and now the sugar free stuff is just as good as the sugar, and that the fried CRAP isn't as apealing or even grosses you out.

Send me a PM or email if you want to meet up at Starbucks next M W or F over lunchtime.
