They didn't do surgery on my brain!! (long)
RIck
I seriously think you just saved me a ton of money on shrink bills. When you put it that way, it really does make sense. And coming from a man's point of view, it is much more rational. I appreciate the input, and it really puts some of this into perspective. I HAVE been feeling uncertain about everything in life this is just a symptom of all of the upheaval! Thank you!!!

Nikki!!! You have really been thru so much this year! Rick makes alot of since!!! When you look back at all the changes and things you and your family have been thru, well, I think you are more like a 'fish out of water' with all this new environment around... Life really has not 'settled' down for you guys since your surgery.....
I'm not surprised that you are having some of these feelings. But know this, you are beautiful and like Rick said, it would not matter if you had on a burlap sack you would still turn heads, IMO!!
Just put on your 'super-women' bracelets and get thru this. And you will, You are a strong and beautiful person both inside and out!!!
Miss You!!

HMM maybe a burlap sack would cover the lumps and bumps?? J/K, hey there hot stuff, loved the pics of you from the fashion show! No kidding my life has been "interesting" since surgery. Between the complications, flood, the lost pets, the move, the lost job and the really bad financial situation, in addition to finding out my aunt is in the hospital and had major surgery and then had to go back in and my friend's daughter's rape, and me not being there, UGH! I just don't understand why my brain is playing games with me! I have always been able to handle anything life throws at me, but this is really hard! I miss you and the St. Cloud girls so much!! We need to look into having a St. Cloud coffee group here, St. Cloud FLORIDA is only an hour away!!

Before surgery I would just throw on whatever, and actually thought I looked good. Now I go through three-five outfits before I settle on something that looks "ok" in my mind. I asked my husband the other day if something I was wearing made me look fat ( I KNOW that is a stupid question, like he would say yes if I did, but couldn't help myself.) He said "you never asked me that before surgery when you did look fat, why are you asking now that you are really skinny" So I told him I knew I looked fat before, now I really can't tell what I look like. I never expected this response by my brain.
BOY...can I relate to this...last night I was out with a male friend of mine and we were at this bar doing karoke...one of the bartenders (female) is a little on the "chunky" side...not overly so, but did have a bit of a muffin top over her pants. Anyway, I leaned over to him and said "This is a real girl that just lost lots of weight question, but am I skinnier than her?" He looked at me like I was crazy and said "yeah - by a long shot! Why?" I explained that I don't see myself as that thin. He just didn't get it. Oh well.
By the way - you are a wonderful person - you are not weird and having opposite responses. I think we all (or at least most of us) have had similar problems, it is just that you have so many other things going on that everything just seems so much bigger than it is.
Just know that you are one HOT mama, and you are loved by many. Your confidence will come back...you are just adjusting to the new you.
And, if you find someone that does surgery on the brain along with the stomach...let me know...I need that too!

I'm trying to decide, do I have brain surgery, or plastic surgery? Either way, I'm guessing it will be expensive, so I should probably just relax a bit! Thank you so much for your words of encouragement, and I so understand the not seeing what other people see. I spent about half and hour in front of the mirror after I heard that someone called me hot trying to figure out what the hell he was talking about! I was never critical of my lumps and bumps before surgery, I just accepted them. Ahh the things they don't tell you in the preop classes!!!!!

Nicole:
Being hot isn't just about a woman's physical features. It is also about how she carries herself, her attitude, how her face lights up when she smiles and what a man sees in her eyes. You are blessed with appealing feminine features, but it is more than that, too. Rather than looking for what men see in you, you might consider trying to figure out how to handle this newfound attention.
