Sending warm weather, and a few pics

After my post yesterday, I needed to look as some recent pics to see what a difference a year makes, so here is my WOW

 

You look great! Just one question, did you take the fish off the hook yourself? (I still refuse to do that when fishing w/ DH) Congratulations on beating your WL goal too.

LOL most fish I do take off myself, I also bait my own hook (even though the smell of squid DOESN"T come off for days). The only fish my DH won't let me take off on my own are the catfish, which are notorious for putting their barbs into people's fingers and arms. They have poison on the barb that will knock a grown man to the ground. So we have a tong he uses to get them off. The fish in the pic is a Bonnet Shark, so he wouldn't let me get that one off either. They may be little, but even at that size, they will take your finger off with their razor teeth.

What a difference a year makes!  You look fantastic! I so wish I lived in a warm state, but then again, nothing beats MN fall colors!  What's your Chihuahua's name?  I have one too - his name is Alfie and is probably the same size as yours.

Thanks Sandra and Rick. Punky, that is Bella, my 3 pound 'baby". She was NOT impressed with the catfish, and would stand and shake and bark at them. The other fish we caught, she didn't care, but she seemed to know catfish are bad. It was hilarious. She goes everywhere with me, and is much happier with the weather here than in MN. I miss the fall colors but when I see on the news what the temps are up there, I am doing ok with the 80's we have here. I get cold easily now you know!

Nicole, you look GREAT!  But - what the heck kind of a little fishie is that on your hook? 

If you zoom in on the pic, you can see he is a little Bonnet Shark. It is a cousin of the Hammer Head Shark, but the eyes are on the body instead of the projections from the head. I felt bad cuz he was little, so I let him go, but I guess they make really great tasting fillets at that size. I am holding out for his daddy before I eat that kind of fish. We caught some sheephead and whiting that we did eat that night. YUMMY
