Friday Coffee Talk
WOO HOO!! It is Friday!! The weekend is just about here. Got big plans? I DO! I'm gonna get to see a LOT of my great friends at PF Changs tomorrow! I can not wait!
Anyway, LOL Good morning! I hope you slept good. I did. The rain coming down was such a peaceful sound. Kept the neighbor's dog quiet for one night. HA!
Our challenge for today is to cherish memories. Memories are great things to hold on to and enjoy. In our challenge today, I thought I would make it kind of fun. Why not share your favorite childhood memory with us? C'mon! Mine? I LOVE the memory of going to my grandmother's house on Christmas or any other time. She would spoil us rotten. One particular time, I can remember going and it snowed. We RARELY get snow. It was 1973 and there was over a foot here in Alabama. She put plastic bread bags on our feet and let us go out and play in the snow. We had a blast. Then she brought us in and gave us some hot coco. Talk about fun memories at my Grandmother's.....we had them! Share your's with us.
So, who's up? What cha sipping on? Me? I'm loving me some more Caribou Cofffee. Gotta love it. Especially when it is fresh ground. HEHE!
Ya'll have an awesome Friday as you think about and cherish all the good times/memories in your lives.

Good Morning People!!
I am sipping on my first LEGAL cup of tea!. I had one cup a couple weeks ago, that wasn't approved LOL
I went to the doctor yesterday and I asked him if I could have coffee or tea and he said by all means. I was just following his orders the day after surgery he said none. Ok, so maybe that was a couple months ago lol
Childhood memory- I have a ton but the funny one my mother and I talked about yesterday was:
When I was little my aunt would be sitting next to me at the table. She was a frail woman. At some point in time she must of been bigger. She had the bat wing arms. The kind we get as we are shrinking. I would sit next to her and jiggle he bat wings until she would say stop! LOL I was just amazed by them. I said "When I get old I want arms just like yours"
BE CAREFUL WHAT YOU WISH FOR PEOPLE!!
LOL
Have a wonderful weekend!

LOL @ Tink!!! My batwings are downright FRIGHTENING!!!
Favorite childhood memories? Man, there are TOO MANY to pick just one...
Going fishing with my grandparents, watching grandma clean the fish outside her porch (bullheads? GROSS!!!)
All the naughty pranks grandpa would pull on ANYONE (slowing down for hitchhikers, then speeding off as they reached for his doorhandle, stuff like that!)
Watching my dad shave & splash his aftershave on his face, then gently spanking a little on MINE!
Decorating Christmas cookies - I have all the tin cutters we used when we were kids, and LOVE making cookies with MY kids using those same cutters!
Spending hours laying in the grass with my dog, looking for bunnies and turtles in the clouds.
Building ginormous snow forts in the backyard with my brother!
** sigh **

Randy,
I guess being it's Fall out, it brings back memories of going to my Grandparents house and raking leaves, HUGE leaf piles as they had all beautiful sunset Maple tree's and jumping & playing in the leaves.....The piles were taller than me...It was great....Thanks for making me think of a happy memory.......

This time of year always brings back memories of my adopted Grandpa (adopted because he was a close friend of the family, and my only biological grandpa lived in Kentucky and we didn't get to see him much). Being that this about the time all the hunters start getting ready for deer season he would be up at the hunting cabin and always bring us trail mix, but there was something special about his that made it different from everyone elses, although for the life of me I cannot think of it right now. That and just being out at my family's hunting cabin playing in the leaves or running through the woods, it was great!
Right now I am eating some chicken soup in the hopes that my tummy will get better soon.
Have a great weekend!

Good Morning Randall......Lucy too!!!
I am sippign my usual CL Peach Tea.....yummy. I did however have a Latte earlier!!!
My childhood memory is every fall with my family. We always took a drive up the North Shore around Duluth as the leaves were turning. We would stay at a motel and make a weekend of it. I continued that tradition with my daughters. We still talk about it and all the fun we had.
Thanks for reminding me of this wonderful memory.
Love and hugs....connie d

What a great idea!! I of course have many happy childhood memories but I think the best one was going to my grandparents in Alabama every May and staying until the end of August. My grandpa always had a "horse" for me to ride and until I was about twelve I did not figure out it was a mule!! And then I did not figure out until I was fifteen that it was also the mule that he plowed eighty acres with a single plow ( and we complain about work? ). So needless to say I started school each year with my southern drawl and to this day I have to catch myself sometimes because it comes second nature to me to talk with a drawl. Fond memories....thank you for this one!!!
