Anyone ever have the H Pylori bacteria?

Hi all, I was in to my surgeons office this week with BAD stomach cramps and nausea . I didn't have much of an apetite (for about a week or so) but I did know that eating something made the pain stop.  I KNEW this wasn't normal.

Anyway, getting to it...the Dr. thinks I have H Pylori bacteria which can give you an ulcer. I am on meds to help with the ulcer, and it's finally helping...but am still waiting for the blood work to come back to confirm the bacteria or not...
Anyone else ever deal with this? If so, how quickly were you feeling better? Did it cause any other problems?

Nope hasn't happend to me. But just wanted to say, GET BETTER...And keep us informed, this sounds interesting and may help someone else too......

I just got a call from the nurse and she said my bloodwork came back normal. No H Pylori bacteria....now does anyone have any ideas on why I felt such terrible cramping in the stomach (diapram) area? It was seriously the worst stomach ache I've ever had....Can coffee cause an ulcer? Strange.

WLS can cause an ulcer. I've had 2 already. It will be at least a week before you start feeling better. Did they put you on carafate or just prilosec?

I was hoping it was nothing I did...they put me on Carafate and Prevacid. It's working, I'm feeling better already. How long did you have to stay on the bland diet?

YEP! I got it two weeks before my surgery. I went on some meds... and in about 2 weeks, it passed. It was not a huge deal.
