Preparing for My November WLS (On 11/11)

I  will be starting in on 5 glucerna shakes a day this coming Saturday, 11/1.  I will be having my WLS surgery on 11/11.  I have started buying a few other items... measuring sppons, small bowls, broth, water, glucerna shakes (I need 50 shakes total - 5 shakes a day for 10 days), gas-x chewables, and my "cleansing potion" for the day before my WLS...

I have been trying to really slow down my eating to get ready for the new eating habits.  I think I am going to "palm" some of the small silverware that they serve in the First Class section of Northwest Airlines (I have four flights to make before my surgery, so I figure I can get four sets)...

Congrats on the upcoming surgery. I start my LD on the 29 for surgery on 11/12. I bought a 2 week LD package that consists of protein powder, chicken and beef brooth, pudding, applesauce and flavorless protein. I have to have at least 80 grams of protein a day @ 1000 calories. Good luck in your upcoming diet and surgery.

Congrats to you for making it to this stage!!!  The LD is the pits in the beginning but it can be done and it is sooooooooo worth it!!!

A few more items to get- A strainer for your liquid stage- straining soups and just drinking the liquid are awesome variety to get you through that stage- also a purreer for your pureed stage.

Best Wishes and welcome to the Board!!!!

Hey neighbor!  Just wanted to send you my best wishes for your LD and beyond!  It's all in the attitude, Alan - tell yourself 'This is only 10 days.  I can do ANYTHING for 10 days!"  'Cuz after the surgery, you won't have a problem with the progression back to 'normal" food, your pouch will be there to assist you!

If you forget to "palm" the silverware pre-op, there's a great shop just up the road at the Albertville Outlet Mall - I think it's called Kitchen Collection, 1/3 of the way from the west end of the original part of the mall, and they sell small untensils!  I LOVE my little spoons for eating my yogurt!!

BUCKLE UP!!!

THANK YOU to everyone for your support.  Also, thanks for teaching me some of the WLS acronymns.  LD - Liquid Diet.  Got it.   Is there such an acronym as HPLD (High Protein Liquid Diet)?  I love this abbreviation stuff!!  Take Care & God Bless for now!
