When did they finally notice?

When did people finally start noticing and commenting on your weight loss? 50lbs? 70lbs? Just curious to poll everyone.

2019: 11 years out and maintaining a loss of 150lbs.

People noticed within a few weeks, my weight loss showed in my face right away. Then the comments really started to fly at about 50 lbs.

Well, for me, it's hard to tell as all that knew me KNEW I had surgery so I was getting comments early. At around 30 lost people that come in for Hair to e noticed my face. At 50# comments got more but when I lost 60+ EVERYONE was commenting.

Great question! It will be interesting to see what all have to say!

At around 40 pounds and six weeks people really started to comment on my weight loss. Now, of course, I get lots of comments on being thin, some of which I don't like. I haven't seen some of my in-laws (out of state) since last Christmas (surgery on 10/8/07) so them seeing me this Christmas will be interesting.

I also think it has a lot to do with how much weight you had to lose to begin with. Smaller people will show loss faster.

The ultimate was when I saw a friend from high school earlier this summer, after I lost my weight, and she said "you haven't changed a bit!" She missed the weight gain after high school for the next 35 years so I found that comment hilarious!!!!

Fitness is not about age or a size -- it's really about an attitude and life style!!!

I think it was about 4 months out and down about 45-50 lbs that people would ask what I was doing to lose weight.
My favorite reaction was last Friday at book club where they saw me for the first time since spring, I got a very loud "Holy Sh*t"!!

A lot of the people around me knew I was having surgery, but I think they really started to notice & make comments somewhere in the 30 - 50 lb range.

My MIL noticed at -35 or so. I hadn't told her 'cuz I knew I would get negative feedback from her. Now she's glad for me that I had WLS done.

My BILs, whom I did not see for a year because of distance, all did a double take when they did see me. Nice reaction, indeed!
Now people don't believe I ever had a weight problem, even when I show them the fatty fat fat picture of me.

I have almost lost a whole person--down 135#s from my heaviest.
Glad to have her off my back.. and middle...and inside!

I think it was around 50 lbs...many people knew I had it done and they said things almost immediately, but those who don't or didn't know didn't start asking me if I had lost weight until around 50 lbs.
