Hello everyone,

well its been a while since I have posted. I saw Dr. Swartz today and he is a very nice man.  He is willing to do my revision but I have to meet with his dietitian and do a ew of his program requirements.  Totally fine with me.  I was so happy he felt I would benefit from the revision.

Anyway so here is my question for you all.

What are some good high protien snacks.  Homeaid, store bought.

I have noticed that I get hungry alot and I know that protien is a good way to feel fuller longer.
So help me please any all suggestions.  I need on the go ideas as well as prepare in advance one.

Thanks everyone,
I look forward to chatting more, posting more, and going through my second life changing journey with you all.

String Cheese
Cheese curds
South Beach Living Wafer Stick (in the cookie aisle, one tastes like a Kit Kat)
Builder bars, found in grocery stores, love the peanut butter one.

I thought of another one I like...

Pure Protein shakes....can find them at GNC, very delicious and in a can, like pop, only so much better for you.

Amy - what surgery are your revising from/to?

Snack ideas:

*Hard boiled eggs

*Sci-Fit Beef Stix (3 flavors to choose from, I personally like the Original the best) http://www.bodybuilding.com/store/sf/beef.html

*P.B. Wafers http://www.allstarhealth.com/f/iss_research-oh_yeah_protein_ wafer.htm

*Champion Nutrition protein powder (chocolate & banana scream are the best IMO) http://www.allstarhealth.com/f/champion_nutrition-pure_whey_ protein_stack.htm#productlist

*Sausage/Cheese "meatballs" - recipe below:

1 lb. bulk sausage (like Jimmy Dean)
Shredded Cheddar Cheese, 2 C.
1/4 C. flour (whole wheat can be used) or Bisquick

Roll into small meatballs, put on cookie sheet, and bake at 350 for about 13 - 15 min.

*Pepperoni Crisps (the only thing I remember about this is you take sliced pepperoni, put between paper towels, microwave until crisp)

*Use Fage brand greek yogurt instead of sour cream. Has the same taste & texture, but packed with protein!!! Careful for the honey flavored one as if you dump on sugar, that might be an issue. I personally use the 2% one.

*Cottage Cheese

*Ricotta Fluff, which is my ultimate fave!
1 large container Ricotta cheese
1 sm. pkg. Jell-O cheesecase flavored pudding
1/2 - 1 C. Fage yogurt or sour cream
Blend all until well mixed and refrigerate. If you let this sit in the fridge for a few hours, the flavors have a better chance to blend. It always tastes better the next day to me. It keeps for about a week or better in the fridge.

*Bacon!

*If you have a Costco membership, they have awesome Canadian Bacon that you just have to heat. It's pre-cooked and in the refrigerated section by the fresh meat.

So many more options! This is just my favorite list.

One of my favorites are Turkey Bites.....made by Old Wisconsin. You can pick them up at Cub. Sometime they only have the longer sticks not the bites. They taste like beef sticks but have alot less fat and calories. Everywhere I take them people just love them.
Pure Protein Protein Bars....many flavors...taste delicious!! You can find them at Walmart, Target etc...

My favorite is beef jerky!  Lots of protein, very low in fat, and you have to chew a LOT - so it satisfies a need there, too!

And my favorite beef jerky is Pemmican Original - which isn't available a lot of places, so I just bought a case from Amazon.com!

Tracey suggested those little packages of Buddig Lunchmeats.  They taste good and the serving is small.  Price is right, too!!

I keep a plastic spoon and a little jar of peanut butter in my purse and my desk at work!  Not the best of options, but works for me!  I can't go to a fridge, etc very easily and really don't handle sodium very and also have tmj so lots of chewing is bad for me which eliminates jerky or beef sticks from my life!
