OT...Blocked members

So why do some of you block your profile? If you have something out there you don't want people to see then why post it in the first place. Are you hiding things? I just don't understand.

I can't speak for everyone who have "blocked" but I do it for the shear reason that there are crazy people out there (not here on MN boards, THAT I know of). Anyone can look, comment, ect at your profile. I have rude disgusting comments (made in a flirtatious pukey way) made on my pictures of me, family whatnot. So, for me personally, I put "friends only" to be allowed to see. Cuz if they are my friend I highly doubt (and haven't had any since) a friend would make rude comments........just kinda made me feel like a was a piece of meat!

THAT's MY opinion and reason why......not sure of others tho.

Tammy, do you mean why are some profiles "private"?

I ask because each member has blocking rights. If someone blocked you or you blocked them, there is a reason for it.

My profile is private because I don't want people who are not even members looking at it (they can basically Google it)... they don't even have to log in.

So I make it private and friends can add me and then see it.

2019: 11 years out and maintaining a loss of 150lbs.

I have thought about making mine private also..I tend to use Lighthouselover for alot of things, from email addresses to other groups I am in..and as Elena said, all you have to do is google " lighthouselover" and wham--there are my before and after pictures, weights. personal comments etc for the world to see.

I guess you would call it "private". I guess I understand more now, Thanks.
No one has "blocked" me that I know of but some are private so now I guess I have to see if people will "make me their friend".
