I know better, but haven't had any candy or mints with sugar alcohol in it for a while and I had 10 mints in the span of about 2 hours and am paying for it. I was hungry which is why I had so many. I knew too many would be bad, but they were SO small.  Blech!  NEVER AGAIN!

Yup--those little things can sure throw ya for a loop--or maybe in your case--for a poop?
It's a great to get into the habit of reading labels. Probably will save you a bellyache more than once.

Since you haven't had surgery yet I'm wondering if it is something else.  I could never eat Mento's presurgery -- something in those things!!!!  But I could eat every other one and a TON of sugar with no change in my bowels -- just my hips.
Don't know why they are different than the others but man ---  !!!!!!

Do you have this reaction with other mints or the sugar in food now?  You should wait a day or two and try a different sugar free mint (not the ones that just made you sick) and see if you have the same reaction.  Might just be the mints you had -- or something totally different......something else you ate that just happened to come out after you had the mints.

After surgery, I'm one who is sugar intolerant with everything after my surgery -- so make a mental note of this -- this could be an interesting experiment for others ~~~~ both pre and post op.

Thanks ahead of time!!!!  I'll be looking for results.......

I definately don't have a problem with regular sugar in food,  its the sugar alcohol items that are an issue.  I have had this gas/poop problem before when eating too many other sugar free candys at once.   I think the package actually warns of this if you eat too many.

The culprit yesterday was Ice Breakers Pomegranite-Lemonaide mints.  1 serving is 3 mints and it has 2g sugar alcohol. Since I ate 10, that would have been  a little over 6g.   I've eaten these mints before but just one or two at a time/ in a day, without issue. It must just be the quantity.
