Tomorrows the big day

Good Morning Everyone. And it is a good day!!  Election is finally over-  Tv and radio back to normal again.

Well, tomorrow is my big day-  RNY surgery-  at St. Marys Hospital in Rochester, MN. I am amazed that my surgeon did not require me to do the liquid diet, but hey, I am not complaining.  Like people on this board have said, all Doctors are different with their plans and ideas for WLS.  I am nervous but excited to get this journey going.  I started this in April and it seems like last week now, but at the time, it just dragged.  I have learned so much from all of you but I know I will be asking a lot of questions-  hey your free, I gotta pay to see the Dr.   So thanks to all of you and again, thank you for your wisdom

Good thoughts and prayers are coming your way. Hope the surgery goes well and your recovery is a quick and easy one.

I don't think anyone will be posting as I plan to do it myself when I get home on Sat.  See,  I am thinking positive.

I've gotta say, I just LOVE reading the excitement in your post!  Tomorrow really WILL be the first day of the rest of you life - a healthier, happier life!

Thanks Darla- yes I am excited about this.  It seems like forever but I know it wasn't.  Thank you for the prayers!!  I must say, the only thing I am dreading tomorrow is the needle in the hand, as they have a hard time with me on that.   Painful - but I will get through it.   Move on over girl, I will be joining you all soon

MAN, does that sound like me!!  I'd rather NEVER have an IV again!  Surgery?  No big deal.  IV's?  DEAR GOD HAVE MERCY!!!  Just tell them right up front that you have a hard time with them, ASK for the BEST person to do it!  Believe me, once you warn them up front, they do their best!  For my WLS, I was borderline UGLY about it, and she got it in on her first try!  Had my had wrapped in warm blankets and elevated first to get the best vein, but ONE TRY!!! WOO HOO!!!

And after you lose a mess of weight, the AMAZING thing is that you can actually SEE the veins in your hands!!!  I don't think I'll ever fear getting an IV again!
