That is crazy. Whoever this was must be dumb or not know you very well. Darla says it to a tee!

Miss Manners says that one needs to cultivate an appropriate face for times like this. A way to convey, "how could you be that f-in stupid" without saying a word.

And my mom would have said, "They're out there." That was her answer to anytime one of us encountered extreme stupidity or rudeness. Kind of summed it up.
