DH and I have never taken a vacation in the 12 years we've been together.   I figure with all the effort I'll be putting in with having WLS, it will be a very well deserved trip.

well you've got my unqualified encouragement.  it is bizarre that we'd both be back at the same time.  and i DO NOT eat like a post wls patient anymore, either.  you're right.  the rules just didn't seem to matter for awhile.
but i'm ready to kick it.  i remember when i had the surgery telling myself i would always have my tool, when i needed it.  so now's as good a time as any to start using it again.
good luck, hun.  you've had a tough time of it, but deciding to work on it is a big part of the battle.

Thanks Dorthe! You're a great friend. Hopefully we can BOTH hop back on the bandwagon and beat this thing. I now realize that the weight/eating thing is a lifelong battle, no matter how successful we are at any given moment. Life gets in the way and thing do get difficult. Hugs!
