at the Salvation Army (AKA the 'Sally Ann') and bought a 'new' coat. AND GUESS WHAT SIZE????
Size SMALL/size 9!!!!

Never in my adult life have I worn a size small!!!

I quite love this coat--'camel hair'-- or that lovely beige colour--double breasted, and it's maxi-length.   Best $12.99 I've spent in a long time!

(I don't even care that it's not leather.)

Hey--I'm traveling in unknown territory!  At over 3.5 years out, I find this still shrinking quite interesting!   So you folks who are still on your journey--it ain't over 'til the fat lady shrinks!  (My take on 'it ain't over until the fat lady sings....)

YAY YOU!   I'm absolutely THRILLED when I hear stories like yours, how you're STILL reaping the benefits of WLS!!  I know I'm not done losing, but I really don't know what a realistic goal weight is for me, either.  But I DO freak out a bit when I look at the calendar and see that I'm a year and a half out, past the "honeymoon" of WLS.  I LOVE knowing it'll still work for me if I work for IT!!

And I may have to hit the Goodwill myself for a dressier winter coat - I miss my leather coats, but definitely not a 2x anymore!

Stay warm, Nanook!  (We're all the way up to 34 degrees here right now!!!  WOO HOO!!!)

Well, shucks--thanks, ma'am!

I never really set a definite goal weight, although I did lean towards the magic number of 150#s--what I was when I got married. Okay--so I hit that recently, so do I continue to set my goal ever lower?? I know that if I had plastics done to get rid of the flubber in my mid-section, for sure I'd be in the 140s.

ANYHOO--the ride sure is fun--and educational: what sits in the pouch one day might not sit so well another. ((Yup--even now!))  But I find my thumb nails are my best indicator of needing more protein. Right now they're screaming for more, 'cuz the nails coming up are looking pretty dented and ridged. I guess I better save for another glass-jar blender for my protein shakes!

And Darla--you're doing an awesome job yourself!!!  The honeymoon?? Ever hear of a second or third honeymoon??   Keep working the tool!

What a trip that was I am sure!!!!!! And yes, it gives me hope that I may to reach that elusive single digit number. But even if I don't, still a far cry from the size 26/28 I use to be!!!!

What would we do without thrift stores!!!!!!!!

I am not short... I am fun sized!!

Thanks, Diane!
And it's hard to believe that you were ever a size that large!  You are doing a great job of working your tool!

Hope you're feeling better.

Thanks, Sweetie!
I checked out Value Village first, but saw nothing I liked.
Next stop was the Sally Ann, and was rather skeptical of a 'small' coat--but what the heck--tried it on and it fit like it DID have my name on it!   WOOHOO!!!

And Q--the man of few words--said it was 'okay. Looks nice'.

Whoooo Hoooooooooooooooooo Sweet, sweet Sue!  Awesome!  Me luvs my local Goodwill and Thrift Store--too amusing when people compliment the clothes, and I proudly say where from where they came!  Thanks to the hoarders out there, who buy, buy, buy for the thrill, then end up giving the clothes away!  Sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet!  Hugs, Patti

I agree--thrift stores are fun places to go and usually get good bargains!
And I'm delighted with the coat--just needed to fix the hemline.

I feel sorry for the Sally Ann here in town. It's at one end of a 3-store plaza, and ValueVillage is at the other end. The Diabetes Society canvasses for V V--to the detriment of SA.  All's well in love and war??

Take care, Patti-tat-too!
I'm glad to see y ou on the board and so active!
