As promised the pumpkin desert recipe and book info
The pumpkin desert recipe is nothing too safisticated, because I don't cook anything too fancy.
Prepare 2 boxes of the sugar free cheesecake pudding per directions for the thicker version (1 3/4 cup of cold milk instead of 2 cups) and whisk for 2-3 minutes until it starts to thicken. Thenb add 1/2 a tub of fat free cream cheese slightly softened and whisk that in until completly combined (may work to use an electric mixer I never tried though) then add one small can of pure pumpkin not the premixed pumpkin pie stuff plu 1 Tablespoon of pumpkin pie spice and whip together until well mixed. Place in the fridge to fully set (1-2 hours for best results) then enjoy with some SF or light cool whip. I have also added a scoop of vanilla protein powder when mixing in the pudding and I can't even taste it and it gives it some added protein. Do not for those who are lactoce intolerant that pudding made with soy milk will not properly set so use the Lactaid milk ro regular milk and take a lactaid pill before eating.
The book I mentioned at PNC support group is called "Eat by Choice, Not by Habit" and it is written by Sylvia E. Haskvitz, MA, RD. The part about head hunger vs. physical hunger is below in the book it can be found on pg 47-48:
PH EH
~builds gradually ~ develops suddenly
~strikes below the neck ~ strikes above the neck
(ie growling tummy) (ie taste for ice cream)
~Occurs several hours after a meal ~ Occurs at random times
~ Goes away when full ~ Persists despite eating
~ Eating leads to a sense of satisfaction ~Eating leads to guilt or shame
These cues have really helped me to discern when I am dealing with head hunger then addressing that rather than just eating what I feel.
If anyone has any questions feel free to ask!

Thanks for sharing, Nicole! Not just the recipe, but the clues to Head vs. Physical hunger - WOW!!!
I don't think anyone here would argue that HEAD HUNGER is a much bigger issue than actual physical hunger - FEEL FREE to share more insightful tidbits from the book! I have a number of post-WLS books I'd LIKE to read, but the little bit of time I have available for reading is spent reading books of my SON's choosing! Which is precious snuggle time for us, but I don't learn much...

Imperfect does not = unsuccessful
I picked it up at a Women's Expo event in St. Cloud but if you go to this link http://www.cnvc.org/es/bookstore/cnvc-store-printed-items you can order a copy of it. It is very reasonably priced at $8.95.
