My Surgery is Completed; All Went Well!
Well...I checked in for my surgery at Park Nicollet hospital at 5:20 a.m. on Tuesday, November 11th. My surgery began at 7:20 a.m. and was completed before 10 a.m. Everything went well, according to my surgeon - Dr.Charles Svendsen. The only anamoly was that my intestines were a bit lower than expected, which necessitated an extra stitch when hooking my stomach back up (does anyone know if this is common). Dr. Svendsen told my wife that he was concerned about this, but that his concern would be relieved once I went home on Thursday, which was today.
The CN's and RN's of Park Nicollet were excellent. I received "Rock Star" treatment from everyone. What a great facility to have and recover from your bariatric surgery! So, now I am home and feeling very good. I don't even feel like I had major surgery this week (I can't believe it). I feel so good, I think I am going to venture out tomorrow night to catch the opening of the new James Bond film, "Quantum of Solace".

That is really interesting about your intestines. I personally have not heard of that before, but no doubt it's been seen before in patients.

You have another "Mother" here - it's GREAT that you feel good! But still treat yourself with TLC for a good while, okay? No leaf raking, vacuuming, gymnastics or broomball, okay? And for CRYIN' OUT LOUD - do NOT eat popcorn tomorrow night, okay? THAT would be BAAAAAD....
