Positive Facts About Me (share yours?)
What are positive facts about you?
1) The week before surgery, I made peace with my two sisters through mutual honest open communication.
2) Two weeks before surgery, successfully cut all ties (tough love IS tough) with ex-boyfriend, and ceased fostering his cat. (both living in his car--not my problem.)
3) Am at peace with the fact I'm not able to sit in a vehicle three hours each way round trip next weekend for my awesome father's 85th birthday gathering. (85--no way, he's so youthful!)
4) Have received much appreciative feedback for my positive attitude and unique sense of humor from hospital medical professionals worked with since PS Oct. 20. This includes current daily home care nurse visits, and intermittent visits by lymphnoidic therapist, occupational therapist, and physical therapist.
5) During nine-day nursing home stay, utilized my walking exercises to become acquainted with and listen to elderly residents and others also in skilled nursing care.
6) The day before nursing home release, surgeon suspected a blood clot in one calf, which would've sent me back to the hospital several days for IV blood thinner. Ultrasound proved power of prayer and positive thinking, revealing it to be only acute edema.
7) No longer dread inclement weather, as haven't driven for seven years.
8) The past three days: can sit all the way down on commode.
9) The past two days: able to make it 5 to 5-1/2 hours til next two pain pills, rather than the minimum every four hours.
10) There truly is no place like home!
11) Often imitated, never duplicated.
12) I'm a spelling, grammar, and scrabble queen.
13) Am loaded with common sense.
14) I am the best friend because I know why we have two ears and only one mouth: I listen more than I talk, and know the empowerment of keeping secrets.
15) Each negative creates a positive: my so far over $100,000 post-PS care would not be paid by both insurances if I didn't have a physical disability. No body's perfect, we each must accept the hand we're dealt and play to the best of our ability. Positive attitude and humor are paramount!
16) Am generous to a fault.
17) Good, honest intentions do backfire.
18) While I am a social person, I do enjoy being alone, and do not get bored.
19) I appreciate silence as much as music.
20) Love and am good at amateur photography (er, excluding self shots!)

I'm not perfect but I am going to die trying!!!
What a slap in the face, which is what I need! Here I am being all bummed out about my surgery being pushed back two weeks instead of being thankful that I have insurance, was approved for the surgery and have lost 22 pounds so far, I could go on and on. We do tend to dwell on the negative instead of thinking about the positive. Thank you for opening my eyes!!!
