I took that first step...

and made an appointment for 1PM tomorrow with the dude who is the contact person for the Masters program.

So we shall see.   I received an email once that said 'God provides our daily bread but expects us to the baking" (or something along that line.)
So, God--I'm stepping out in faith and working the oven. ..

If I don't try, I'll never know...

Prayers are once again appreciated!

And one last comment:  some people might think my mentioning of God so often might be offensive, but the way I look at it, if you're crippled, you need a crutch--and God is not only my crutch, He is my life, my Great Physician. He is my provider, etc, etc.
((No one has ever dissed my mentioning God, but I do realize not every one on the board espouses my faith source.))

(((HUGS)) to each and every one of you!!

Well YOU, my dear, are always in my prayers!    God is definitely my best friend, too - I can't imagine anyone here being offended by your mention of your faith, 'cuz if they don't share your views, well, at least you're not trying to "convert" anyone, or cramming YOUR God down anyone's throat!  Just sharing.  No harm in that.

We have to believe in something or we'll fall for anything.  Or something like that.

MANY thanks, Darlin' Darla!

My faith was magnified when my beloved husband died. God is the 'husband to the widow, the father to the fatherless'--and many times I told Him--'God-these are Your kids--do something!!!
But we all survived--by His grace alone.

(And sooo many time I wish God 'had flesh'!--Know whut I mean??)  And I've told Him--I'm NOT the one who died--it's soo unfair that I have no one (ie: husband) when I'm in my sexual peak--but I won't go there...

LOVE YOU!   And sooo agree with your final statement!

Thank you, my angel on earth!

I'm relieved that the contact dude is a Christian--we used to go to the same church, so he will know what I talk about if I have to mention God opening windows and closing doors..
.

And my truth is my truth, my statement of faith!  (Does that make sense?)

Sue:

I am not religious, but I think your mentions of faith are fine.  If your faith brings you joy and peace, there is nothing wrong with sharing that, especially here.  For me, the line is crossed when people insist that their faith and related views should be my faith and views or that their faith somehow makes them superior to someone else.  You manage to share your faith gently and without judgement.  I wish more people had your finesse.

Awww, thanks for your kind words, RP.  I hope I never get offensive in mentioning my faith, which is an integral part of me.

But the purpose of this particular posting was that I am confronting my fear and talking to the dude about the masters program. The first step! It scares the heck outta me --but how will I know if I can do it if I don't try? And indeed it is the FIRST STEP--there is a whole rigmarole about applying and proposing a thesis, etc, etc, blah blah blah!  (My  interest lies in gerontology/ palliative care--a somewhat smaller field of expertise).  If this in God's plan for me, it will be. If not, it won't happen.

I have to get ready for my next shift at the REAL Canadian SuperStore--an ironic name when so much of the merchandise is imported, to the detriment of the Canadian working class. Same problem in the US, I realize..

Have a terrific day--and thanks for your support and kind words!
