"Do unto others as you'd have done to you"~ The Golden Rule to Live by!
You are what you EAT and WHO you hang out with! Choices=Outcome~ what's YOUR choice??
I'm not perfect but I am going to die trying!!!
I know what you mean about music... my friend Greg (who also helped care for her) and I made a presentation of photos and videos for the memorial.... and three songs always make me cry because they were part of the memorial:
--Daughters by John Mayer
--About Mr. Brown by OAR
--One Love by Bob MArley
It's interesting how we tie songs to those experiences...
My prayers are with you and Mimis family. You are right, it is not fair and it makes a person angry at that darn "C" word.
You are a strong person and will continue to get stronger as time heals your pain. Remember the good times, and yes do bring her chocolate and talk to her. She hears you and loves you for all you did to help her through her pain.
Natalie
Mimi was blessed to have you as friend! And the fact that your friendship lasted so long is indeed a blessing.
((Reading how the cancer tortured Mimi brought tears to my eyes, as my beloved husband died from thyroid-cancer-morphed-to-esophageal cancer, which effectively closed off his throat. I remember him lying in the hospital bed with a suction pump to get normal saliva out as he could not swallow. His cancer progression was similar to Mimi's. Cancer be damned!))
No philosophic words will be offered to you from me. You are doing the right thing--celebrating Mimi with her family, and keeping alive her love of life and family. She's probably smiling at you all and throwing you kisses!
