Two years ago, on November 14th, I had my RNY... by coincidence, my birthday is November 16 (today) and since the two are so close in time, it's easy for me (from now on) to consider my birth and "re-birth" intertwined.
I got an anniversary reminder email from OH to update my profile (as that helps people who are new and/or in the research stage to hear from those of us who have been there for awhile...) and of course that got me to thinking about my own journey, and how much this site meant to me - from the very beginning. I don't come here that often anymore, but I still very much value this place and wonder if I ever could have gotten through everything without all the information and support that I found here.
My message to anyone considering surgery, is that the past 2 years have been absolutely amazing, and I've not regretted having my RNY for one single second... I feel very blessed, and am grateful to OH and all their members (Linda Anne, Granny Eileen)!!!!

Hi My Friend................
Two years out.........CONGRATULATIONS!!! It doesn't seem like that is possible; but looking at your picture.............you look absolutely beautiful!!!
I couldn't agree with you more about having the surgery. In spite of the set backs I have had, I still do not regret having the VGB (Still wish I could have had the RNY).
Hope you will come to coffee sometime.....just for old times sake. There is a coffee every other week at Caribou on South Robert in West St. Paul. It was in Eagan last week; so I do believe it's WSP this coming Saturday. Keep an eye out on the Board for confirmation.
Again, CONGRATULATIONS, and may life continue to be good for you.
Love................Granny Eileen

Hi Marilyn, I sure remember you! Was a totally different board back then, and looking at your profile and friends' pics, there are a LOT who aren't on the board anymore. People get so busy with new lives in the 'real' world. Happy surgiversary to you! Happy birthday to you! You've done fabulously--keep it up and pop in anytime! Hugs, Patti (07/25/06 though didn't get on board 'til 11/206),
Never let your memories be greater than your dreams.

What an AWESOME birthday present you gave yourself!!! WOW!!! That's soooo cool to have them so close together!!! Congrats on a job well done!!! I also love the term "re~birth"!!! I tell my husband that of all the important days is my life such as birthdays of my girls, our wedding, ect, that my Surgiversary IS just as important and HE BEST celebrate it just the same!!! My life has changed so much for the better!!!! I just asked my DH yesterday, "can you imagine what I'd be like if I hadn't had RNY????"~ so miserable, nearer to deaths door, ect! RNY has changed my life in soooooo many ways FOR THE BETTER!!!!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY and REBIRTH!!!!!!
