Did anyone sees these programs on The Learning Channel last night?

I caught the end of the Mom episode.  Didn't catch everything, but I was able to tivo it during the night when they replayed it.  I also taped Half Ton Dad.

I just finished watching "Half Ton Dad".  And that was the most remarkable story I've heard.  If you saw it, I think you know what I mean.  It was real life - a woman who was over 800 lbs has trouble finding a surgeon who would help her by performing gastric bypass surgery.  I won't say any more than that.  Because I highly suggest catching these episodes if they replay on a later date.  The woman (Renee) and her family.  I got a good cry out of it, let me tell you.  She had to put up quite a fight to get just one surgeon who was willing to do it.  And her daughters- it show how they struggled with their own weight issues.  And how mean other kids were to them because of their mom's weight.

I am going to watch Half Ton Man.

I looked on the TLC website and they don't have it available to watch from the net.  I am going to email TLC and see if /when they will replay these episodes.  And if they do, I will let you know.   I think I'll try Youtube later as well.

Much Love my friends!  I am getting my butt back to coffee real soon!  Just super busy.

I am not sure if this was the same, but last night I watched "The 627lb woman." or something like that... it was also on TLC.... poor woman struggled for 6 months after surgery, but she came through and was so happy!

I watched it.  It was amazing.  I felt so sad for her.  I think it is such a sick and twisted situation.  When people get that big; they cannot cook or get food for themselves.  Even delivered, you would have to be able to stand to get to the door to get it.  There are some very co-dependent people contributing to the situations.  The "guy" that was with her, boyfriend, caregiver whatever he was, would get her 8 cheeseburgers from McDonald's and she would eat them all.

It was sad all around.  She was 500 when a drunk driver hit her and then she became completely immobile and ballooened up to 900 pounds.

It is scary.  I sometimes wonder or think that I too, might have the propensity to become that large. I catch myself eating myself into oblivion at times.

Scary scary scary....
