Good Monday morning everybody!  Time to start a new day and a new week.  It is going to be a great one too.  Great day and a great week!  How'd ya sleep?  I slept SOOOOOOO good.  I didn't even wake up during the night.  Nothing like a good nights sleep.

Our challenge for today is to get more active.  Move to lose as someone says.  We can't just have this surgery and expect the pounds and inches to disapear for ever.  Sure we had the surgery to get thinner.  Look better.  But what about your overall health?  Your activity level?  What are you doing to make your heart more healthy?  I've committed myself to walking every morning and ya know what?  Even though I have a hard time doing this (physically), I feel good about myself.  You will too.  Get up and get going.  Join a gym.  Join the "Y".  Walk in your community, THAT IS FREE!  Do something.  JUST MOVE!  We can do this!  I KNOW WE CAN!

So, who's up?  What cha sipping on?  Me?  i'm LOVING me some Caramel Mudslide from our good friend Carmen.  Thanks Carmen  It sure is good.  Lucy will be up in about 30 minutes and she'll enjoy it too.

Yes, moving is important, perhaps today I will take my lunch break and go for a walk as I have class tonight and will not be able to really get in an official workout.  Good for you for starting to walk every morning, if only I could get my body used to getting up earlier and get to the gym before work I would be set, but I have made a couple of attempts and not gotten very far.  However I have already commited myself to get things back into gear once this semester is done and next semester I am only taking 2 classes so I will have time for me.

I am just sipping on some water as I fell behind in my water intake over the weekend and desperately need to rehydrate myself.  I hope you and Lucy both have a wonderful day today!

It is a beautiful morning...even if it is only 27 degrees outside...brrrrrrr!!!

Good challenge......I will be going to the mall to walk later....can't handle the cold temps outside anymore. Thanks for the motivation!!

Good challenge, Randy - the two WLS rules I struggle most with?  Not drinking with meals, and getting more exercise.  (The drinking is probably the worst...)  I'm not a slug, but haven't gotten into a regular exercise routine.   I have been walking at night when it's cold, that seems to be a good one!  But I could sure stand to add some toning to my days! 

(Been trying to figure out WHY ON EARTH my buns feel like I climbed the stairs in the Empire State Building this morning??? )

Good afternoon everyone!  I have not had my surgery yet, but have been walking daily and ride my daughter's exercise bike daily.  I usually ride it for 10 to 12 minutes a couple of times a day.  This morning I went and joined the YMCA.  I am so excited!  I'm going to start a water aerobics class tonight and do some during the day as well.  Hopefully adding the water aerobics and some weight machines to my daily routine will help me shed more weight before my surgery date. 

These postings are so helpful for me and inspiring as well.  Everyone on here rocks!!

Congrats on your upcoming surgery date and being proactive and starting to excersice prior to surgery.  I did water aerobics for the a month pre-op and then 3 months post-op and boy did it help because I was able to get a great workout in without putting too much strain on my body.  I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.  And for what it is worth I know that a lot of the YMCAs will offer a free fitness eval with a personal trainer when you join I reccomend using it as they will be able to help you figure out what to do for toning, the amount of weight, reps, sets, etc.  Good luck and I will be scootin down to make room for you on the losers bench in just a couple of weeks!
