Day after Turkey Day

It just dawned on me this morning that I have my annual check up with my internal med Dr. the day after Thanksgiving.  Is that like a good sign not to overeat or what!

When I got my WLS blood work back, it showed my thryroid low again, Iron low and cholestoral high (260!) (protein, calcium, b12, vit d - all good) ) .  Which is sort of bumming me out.  I had hoped to reduce some med's when I saw internal med, but I'm thinking that's not going to happen.

I had gone off the cholestoral med the night before surgery and have given it a year hoping that the weight loss and change of diet would make it ok, but sometimes regardless, heredity  just plays a big part.

I still think I must be better off, I know I look better, but didn't my insides change at all?  This sucks, and it's dissapointing, ok nuf whining!

Genetics can play a large part of health conditions.   Prior to WLS my BP and cholesterol were sky-high even on meds (a family trait).  Now, over three years later, I'm once again on hydrochlorothorizide to bring my blood pressure back to normal--even though I weigh less than I have in decades.  Damn genes!

So don't feel bad, Buffy. Ain't 'cuz of what you are or are not doing.

Awww, Buffy...  that does suck, for sure.  But you are STILL way better off than you were before WLS!  Keep THAT in your mind at all times!  WLS can't cure everything... I'm still on synthroid, and even WITH the daily supplements, my D was a little low.

Just look at the BIG picture.  And the mirror, 'cuz dahling, YOU ARE MAHVELOUS!!!

I am still on a low dose of snythroid and I have to take extra iron too.

You are still so much better off!!!  Heredity plays such a huge part!!  I was of the BP meds for a year and a half - but I've been back on them for over a year.  Overall we have saved our own lives and the rest is what it is!!  You have done an amazing job and I am so very proud of you!!!  xoxoxoxoxoxoox
