Tomorrow I walk/run a 5K and I'm pretty excited...except for the fact that I am sick.

I am going to take is slow, wear my ankle brace and do the best I can! 3 miles is further than I thought!!

For anyone here who knows anything about doing races in the winter -- what should I wear? My main fear is that I will freeze. Advice would be appreciated!

Good Luck Elena.
I don't know anything about doing a race in the winter but I would think that once you get going you'll stay warm.
Hope you feel better.

Good luck tomorrow. I hope your cold doesn't affect (or is it effect?) you too badly.  I'm no expert on exercise clothing, but I'm sure something that's going to wick away moisture would be good to have tomorrow since it'll be cold.

Good Luck Elena - You can do this! Yay You!

Dress in layers - you will be more comfortable - and easier to take off than try and put on.

Heaven knows I don't know diddley about running, but want to wish you GOOD LUCK, ELENA!!!   I hope your ankle makes it in-tact, and that you say warm, and finish in a time that you are happy with!

Have I mentioned lately that YOU ROCK   ??!!

Elena,
Best of luck tomorrow!

Clothing is a good thing! LOL. Wicking material is best as it draws the moisture out and away, which will help the chill factor. If you go at a pace past standing still you will generate heat,so I think it will not be a problem for you. Now us people who don't like walking, running etc.. and stand on the side lines to cheer you brave souls on are the ones that need lots of clothing LOL

If you don't have wicking, then a couple of light layers so you don't over heat.
I live with a running addict. He even ran the Twin Cities Marathon one year. I told him I get their faster in a car LOL

Best of luck!
