I'm New
Hello,
I'm new to this forum and I'm been reading for week or so, just thought I'd introduce myself.
My name is Melissa and I had RNY surgery on Oct 31st. I actually had lap-band surgery in 2004, so RNY was a revision. I loved my band for the first 2 years, but than started having issues with it. I lost 150lbs with it and had about 50lbs to go when the issues happened. In the last 2 years, I gained 50lbs back, so I still had 100lbs to lose and decided RNY would give me the best chance to do that.
I live in St. Cloud and had my surgeries in Crosby, MN. I would highly recommend them to anyone- with my band and RNY they have been very very supportive. I know there is a support group in St. Cloud, but I work evenings, so that doesn't work out well. I would be interested in meeting for coffee though. I have a friend who just had her surgery this week, and I think she would be interested in coming too.
So far, I have not had any issues, other than pretty severe post-op pain, but that has gotten much better. It is amazing to me that my hunger is gone, something that is much different than the lap-band.

Welcome to the MN Boards and glad to see that you have come out of the lurking stage. Congrats on your most recent RNY. I wish you all the best as you travel through this next chapter in your life.
