5K -- WOW MOMENT!! (Photo inside)
I DID IT!!! WOOOOOHOOOOO!!! This was definitely a WOW MOMENT!!! Thanks for all your support!!
We (my roommate and I) got there and the race started a minute later. I wore layers and peeled them as I got hot.
I had several goals:
1) Finish the race - I did it and crossed the finish line!!
2) Do it in under one hour - 56 minutes and 10 seconds, lol, but still!!
3) Not to be last - I was 5th to last! lol woohoo!
I am SO glad I did it!! I think my body didn't want to do it.. as I was driving to the race, I got a sinus headache and could barely open my eyes (b/c of my cold). As I went to register, my ankle gave out... psychosomatic much?!!
We walked/jogged the 3.125 miles. The super fast runners passed us around the loop quickly and I kind of got down about it... felt like a loser because Greg and I were the last ones at that point (Greg can run much faster than me, but he kept my pace). But he kept saying "It's not about a competition, but doing your personal best, and considering that you've sprained your ankle 6 times and used to weigh 300lbs, this is a huge achievement." (Even he was excited because he had never run a 5K)
Slow and steady finishes the race... and that's what we did... and it felt GREAT!! What a feeling!!!

You are such an inspiration. Not only to those on this board. But to people all around. You set realistic goals. And then party like a rock star when you reach them. I'm guilty of setting goals way above my potential. We are only accountable to ourselves. And for you, at such a young age, to know this. AMAZING! You are successful because of YOU! Way to go.
We aren't on this earth to compete with one another. Just to succeed at what we want to change. You are my hero! I mean it. Way to go!
I also must mention that besides the fact that you look fabulous, I LOVE your hair!
