Getting light headed and dizzy?
For the last three days whenever I stand up I get very light headed and dizzy, I have never had this problem before. Is this anything I should be concerned about? I have been eating around 400 - 500 calories a day and have been getting my required protein each day and have been drinking at least 48 oz of fluid a day. it has been so bad at times that I have had to sit back down because the room was spinning.
"You may feel like giving up, but you have everything you need to succeed. Press forward without fear!"

It is fairly common - often because of the blood pressure meds no longer being needed - but IF I remember correctly, you weren't on that. I'm curious - does your surgeon's post-op diet call for 48 oz of fluid? Most say 64, I'm wondering if you shouldn't try to increase that? Definitely worth a call to your doc, just to touch base and see what he says.
And stand up a little more slowly. As we're dropping weight, our center of gravity shifts, and sometimes THAT can make us a bit wobbly - our brain is used to one center, our body is recognizing another, and they don't always mesh...
Hope you can make it to MG on Saturday, Tim ! Have a happy Thanksgiving!

Imperfect does not = unsuccessful
At 18 months out I still have that happen when I stand too quickly or have been lying down for awhile. Our body was used to having to work harder to push the blood around and now, even with a little bit of weight loss and that can affect it. Another thing that happens with this surgery is it can mess with your blood sugar levels. I know that I have this problem now. If it continues or worsens, call your doc. You can see if it is a blood pressure thing by getting that checked at a Walmart or Kmart pharmacy or whatnot.Good luck.
