The best Thanksgiving ever!

This year was by far the best Thanksgiving I think I have ever had. Kelly F. invited me and my sweetie over for the day and we got there just in time for him to catch the opening of the Titans/Lions game, in which the Titans kicked booty! Kelly and I cooked for the better part of 2 hours fixing squash, low-carb stuffing that was sooo good, making my special pumpkin custard dessert, and all of the other things we had to eat. It was nice to be able to go back and forth between the kitchen & the living room to spend a bit of time w/my sweetie. We ate just before 2 and I have to say that I enjoyed myself, did not feel a bit guilty and made very helathy choices regarding what and how much food I took and ate. Kelly's daughter was playing photographer and got two pictures of me and my sweetie and one of me and Kelly together.

Unfortunately I had to work tomorrow and my sweetie has to work tonight, I am actually going to curl back up with him while he sleeps in juat a bit here. I have to say although I got a lot of flack from my family about not going up there for the day I do not regret it in the least and was happy to be able to spend a day with people who I am truely thankful for in my life!

I will post the pictures from today in my album for those of you who have been wanting to see my sweetie!

Hope everyone else had a wonderful Thanksgiving.

Thanks Elena!  Yup it definitely felt good to be able to do what I wanted rather than what I "ought" to do.  Hope you had a good day as well!

Hey Nicole~
How wonderfully AWESOME is this!
   I am ECSTATIC for you!!
Heck, if it were possible, I'd just reach through this dang computer and give ya big hug!!  From the sounds of  your post, YOU ARE GETTING IT!!  (And I mean this in a good way-((no innuendoes at all!!))   -enjoying the occasion and in particular the people, and especially for not feeling guilty for ENJOYING yourself and for being proud of your food choices.  You've struggled with these very issues since you began your journey. YAY YOU!!!

I'm so proud of you--in case it's not obvious!!

(((HUGS))

Thank you Sue!

Yes, it was so nice this year to not feel guilty about my food choices and to know that I am this healthy and happy has been an absolute blessing.  Yep, I was getting a big old hug while sleeping next to my sweetie...but any hugs are welcome!

I hope you had a good day as well!

Thanks Connie!  Yes, Kelly F. and I really are glowing, I think it had something to do with the fact that we both had such a great time yesterday.

I am glad that you and Dwayne had a good day and I hope that you are able to see your family soon.

Have a great day today!

What a nice way to spend your Thanksgiving this year, you sound so happy!  Hopefully your family didn't give you too much flack about not making the trip to see them, this is a special holiday for you and I hope they know how much Kelly & Tom mean to you.  The best holidays ever are the ones where you are WHERE and with WHO you really want to be with that day.  YEAH!

Thanks Kristy,  I hope you had a good Thanksgiving as well!  Yes, I am very happy and I intend on having a conversation with my Mom about yesterday since she never even called to wish me a happy thanksgiving after I called and talked to my dad when they were out.  I am hoping to nip that whole issue in the butt before Christmas.  Yes, it was best for me to spend Thanksgiving with Kelly F & my sweeetie because right now that is what made me the happiest and healthiest.

I hope you are doing well and perhpas we can get together for coffee sometime soon!

Hugs!
