Over Two Weeks Post-Op
First, I wanted to thank everyone on this board for their support and for also sharing your own triumphs and challenges. I do have to say that the world seems a bit "smaller" and more friendly with all of us pulling together like this to help each other out! So, my most sincere "THANK YOU" to
ALL!!!
I have made it past my two weeks post-op... almost zero complications! The only issue of discomfort I have had was a bit self-manufactured. When I started my pureed diet on 11/20, I thought it would be a good idea to use these turkey/chicken pre-cooked Italian meatballs that I found in a grocery store in Seattle. While the meatballs were easy to prepare and process, I discovered (rather uncomfortably) that they gave me gas! A few Gax-X strips later - I was feeling much better and decided to use just regular chicken breasts instead.
My weight loss is going well, even though I have not yet weighed in. I will do so tomorrow after the Maple Grove, MN support group meeting. I have already been getting a lot of positive feedback and support from families and friends. "You look a lot less puffy... " seems to be the common theme. Whenever I lose weight, I always seem to lose it first in my face and my hands. I hope the other areas will come along more quickly now that these first areas have been "de-fluffed"...
I have been doing okay on my activity as well. However, I am going to have to get some lycra type workout pants - my inner thighs are rubbing together and causing skin irritation!
I will be having my one month follow-up appointments with my bariatric center and my nutritionist next week. I hope everything continues to go so well!
