The first few days are the worst.  The networks all get word that someone is starting a LD, and they play EVERY FRICKIN' FOOD COMMERCIAL ever made!   And that whole mentality of wanting most that which you can not have?  Yeah, that's the truth.

You have no doubt jumped through plenty of hoops to get to the point where you are, just days away from surgery.  The LD is a pre-op requirement, and if you cheat - whether you admit it to your surgeon or not, you could jeopardize your surgery.  Did you really go through everything to get sent home WITHOUT your life-saving tool in place?  I don't think so.

Don't give in.  Every time you defeat the evil food cravings, you'll feel better and better about yourself and your ability to be successful with WLS.  If you cave in and eat something you shouldn't,  you'll find yourself on a downhill slide mentally and emotionally.  Defeated.  Make up your mind to be stronger than the urges that made you obese in the first place, come here and spend as much time as you need to looking through before/after photos, reading profiles, strengthening your determination to DO THIS RIGHT!!!

It's NOT easy.  But you will NEVER REGRET doing the right thing for yourself!!

Being compliant on LD is really REALLY hard.  Like others have said, the first few days are the worst, and then you begin not to be so hungry, cranky, headachy.  If you're able, I highly recommend napping after work, and going to bed early.  The less time awake the better for the first few days.  And SLAM the water !  Helps you feel full and ensures you don't suffer from any more icky side effects of being dehydrated.  You can do it!

Thank you guys for ur reply's. I have come all this way...not to fail! I know this won't be easy, but I'm going to succeed.  I think I can...I think I can.... I made S/F jello.  So now I have to get creative about the liquids I need to consume. and Darla u are right the networks hear about us and show every FOOD commercial known to man! It's gonna be tough! If it was easy I wouldn't be where I am today, right.  I love this site everyone is so helpful!

Everything that everyone has posted is what I would say as well.  Turn the TV off.  Get plenty of rest.  It will get better after day 4.  That is when you've detoxified from sugar, carbs, etc.  You've come too far to not give forth 100% effort.  You can do it!
