Hi Everyone!!!
Haven't been on this board in ages... hope everyone is well & hello to those I've never talked to! (Nothing personal... just been out living life & on the plastics board when I'm on here).
I just wanted to see if anyone had used Dr. Chris Kovanda of Midwest Plastic Surgery in Edina (or Robbinsdale)?? Or had plastics done at Fairview Southdale Medical Center? If yes, what were your experiences? Results? I'm really pleased with him & his practice thus far & had RNY @ Southdale too - just curious for other opinions.
I am scheduled for breast lift (no implants), upper & lower tummy tuck (yes there are two LOL), & thigh lift in 15 days!! 12/19/08 couldn't come any sooner... and it's just 1 day before my 18 month surgiversary!!! Will be quite the two day anniversary for the rest of my life!
Also, I attended a plastic surgery seminar & was really turned off by what the doc was telling this big group of people. Lots of jazz about not submitting to insurance because it will be denied... saying that no plastic surgeons even take insurance... on & on - you get the drift. I did eventually say something but started thinking about how many people thought that?! I want to share with you all that that is NOT true! If you're interested in plastics post massive weight loss (surgical or non surgical) - go get a consult... find a doc that accepts insurance & that is well versed in dealing with the companies/requirements. Most do free consults for cosmetic stuff anyways, sure wouldn't hurt to find out if it's considered medically necessary & can be submitted. It can be done! Mine is all approved & I doubt I'm much of a special case. Many insurance companies say no when you call to ask - that's different than submitting paperwork, documentation of skin issues/grade of hang/attempted treatments, & photos. The worst they can do is say no... it's worth a shot!
Hopefully this can help anyone that is interested. I have met several ladies who didn't even try because they assumed it was impossible. Best wishes to everyone on their weight loss journey - wherever that takes you!!

Hi! Thanks, Darla! Yea... talk about an awesome Christmas gift!!!! I'm so excited! Thank you, I'm anxious about the healing more than procedure itself! Of course I don't mind - Preferred One. They have been amazing! We have a great policy since I work for Fairview Health System... but Preferred One seems to have pretty good plans as a whole from others I've talked to. Hope all is well with you!!!
