I survived OCB

My son got to pick a restaurant for his birthday....so his choice was OCB.  I have not been there in years and was concerned about the whole thing.  Plus, I could NEVER get my mind around how much it would cost based on what I could eat.  Well I had a coupon which I applied to my meal (brought it down to 6 bucks) so in a way that resolved that.

I stuck to the proteins and actually loaded my plate with stuff I like to eat, then just picked at the different things so I got to taste everything I wanted to.  That place is a zoo...don't really like it, but I made good on a promise and I did not leave all bloated like I used to.

And I stopped off at Fleet Farm and bought some 36 jeans...straight leg.  Not only did they fit but I'm thinking 34s might have even worked.  So I wear them under my gut, but that's how I roll(um...pun not really intended, but what the hay)...

Tomorrow bright and early I'm heading for Maryland for a week of training...and I get to wear my new jeans...though I'm disappointed that they don't carry white denim anymore.  So maybe I'll find some in 34....that is a very weird thought for me.  I am only a pound away from the 2-teens...

Way to go on the OCB!! I don't think I could do that yet. You were a good dad and upheld your promise to your son! Have fun in Maryland.

Good for you braving the buffet for your son's b-day!  And even better getting down in your jeans size, that's great!

I've always hated buffets because I felt like everyone was watching how much I was taking and I would always end up taking less than "normal" sized people I was with, many times, just 1 plate.  Big waste of money for my insecurities.

What a great dad! And sounds like you made some very good choices for yourself. I'm really impressed on how stuck to your new skills despite being in a place that could definitely have transported you back to your pre-op ways.

Awesome on the jeans! I'm looking forward to moving down to smaller sizes but I'm just a week out from surgery. I can't wait to see what that feels like.

I'm sure you'll be able to find white denim once spring comes.

Congratulations on a fabulous weekend all around.

That is so awesome that you took your son to his choice - love it when parents let their kids push the boundaries a litte and make their own decisions on where to eat! Fun!

Nice on the jeans, too but I'm with Elena here...80's makeover desperately needed, though I was thinking those were from the late 70's, too.???

Have a safe trip to & fro!

YAY YOU!  I've been there twice since surgery, and was pretty proud of myself.  It's actually, in a way, an  awesome test of our determination to honor our tool, I think!

Anyway, congrats on the lil' jeans!  Have a good, safe trip, Paul!

WAY TO GO!!!

Yet another inspiring story that we CAN eat again -- just with the right foods and in the right portions.  Soon you'll be like Troy and into boys pants (get the priest joke out of your head) at the rate you are losing!!!  Looking good!!!
