Hello all!

Last I posted wa****ting my 100 lb loss.  My next mile stone, for me, was to get below 300 lbs.  Well, I decided to hold off posting getting below 300 until it was real.  Well, I weighed 294 this morning so it is reality!  The weight continues to drop off and I am really getting into uncharted territory.  I have not weighed under 300 lbs for very long in my adult life.  I have to say that my worst nightmare is that the loss stops now and I can't go any further.  This is where all my other diet attempts have stopped. That is why I have been hesitant to own this.  Well, I am owning this!

I have mentioned before that I had alot of clothes to wear as I have been dropping pounds.  Well, the collection is about exhausted.  I am into 2xls and 46 pants and have had to buy some new things.  I know that I won't be in them for long, but it is such a treat for me to go buy new clothes that I just love.  Haven't bought much, but it is great to be able to walk into most stores and buy anything.  No more casual male.  I got rid most of my old clothes to the LUPUS foundation.  They picked them up and made it easy.  I was going to make a quilt out of them, but decided I just wanted to be done with them.  I didn't put a total to what I gave away, but I can't imagine the thousands of dollars I had spent over the years.

A WOW moment for me was being in downtown MPLS this weekend.  My Mom, sister and her husband, Craig and I went to WIcked at the Orpheum.  We ate dinner at M & S Grill before going and walked to the theater.  It was COLD!!!  So, Craig and I said we would go get the car after the show and pick them up.  Well, the SkyWay was closed at Macy's so we had to go outside for about 4 blocks.  Again, COLD!!!!  I was walking briskly, which would have killed me to do anything but a snail's pace before.  I was freezing, so I said, "Come on" to Craig and started to run.  Did you all hear me??? RUN!  And I didn't die!  Just wow!

I love my RNY!!!

Under 300???? WAY TO GO!! You are kicking butt!!

2XL and 46?? Soon you'll see XLs and size 34/36 pants!!!!!

And running? That's awesome. I, too, would have died if I tried running somewhere before... frankly, I would have sprained an ankle. Congrats on these HUGE WOW moments!!

YEAH YOU!!!!  294 is SO under 300 pounds! You'll never see a weight beginning with a 3 EVER again!  You're such an inspiration, seriously!  And you suggested running, that's too cool!

After surgery I'm going to have to try and commit to going to coffee more often. I think it's so comforting to be there, being supported by others just like you/me.

So, what size do you have to get down to before you buy yourself a cashmere sweater?

You put a smile on my face with that post, Michael. I'm so excited for you. Congratulations!

I am impressed by the running. At this point for me, someone would have to be holding a gun on me to see me run. That is an excellent WOW moment.

It's wonderful that you are getting past the diet mentality we have all suffered through in the past. My dad has a hard time appreciating my little WOW moments and weight loss. My therapist said its because he has the diet mentality and he's seen me fail so many times over the last 15 years. So its wonderful that you can own the 294 and accept your weight is going to go even lower.

Hoping to see you at Eagan for coffee this week!
