Fibromyalgia
I have a question and hoping some one has an answer.
I have just been told I have fibromyalgia.
My question is would that be a co morbid that isnt contolled with meds, the meds they say might help, but the dr. wrote a letter stating I needed to lose weight due to my condition.
Also I will have this for the rest of my life.
I have BCBS of ND.
Thanks for all the help

hi loretta:
i don't know if you'll like my answers, but they're just from my own experience, so - here goes.
first of all, my fibro got worse with weight loss. could be coincidence, but there is a fibro forum on this site and i don't think i'm alone in this.
as far as i know, it's not a co morbidity question, JUST chronic pain.
the med of choice - by far - is lyrica. which is well documented to put on weight rather than help you lose it.
and finally, i have heard of people who no longer suffer from fibro, for whatever unknown reason the inflammation eases. but most often is the case where you learn what causes you to flare up and you learn to avoid those things. mine seem to be sugar and stress. the sugar isn't too difficult for me because of the rny i've had - but stress really kicks my butt. it's something i'm working on.
best of luck, loretta. with your diagnosis and your journey. wish i could be more positive but if you're at all like me, you'd rather learn the truth and try to figure out how to cope with it.
gentle hugs
