Ideas for a dish to pass for Christmas?
I'm going to my family's for Christmas Eve and we all bring a dish to pass.
I am still on pureed and starting a bit on soft foods. What can I bring to share that I can eat and that others would enjoy as well? I'd like to make sure I have something to eat that seems at least a bit festive.
The additional problem is that this needs to be able to sit in my car while I'm at work on that day. Which kind of takes away everything. Since I'm going straight to Wisconsin after work so I can get there on time.
My dad said he would go to the deli and pick something up instead. Someone usually brings a nice meat and cheese tray. Anything else in the deli I could eat?
Thanks!
Anna

It will probably be cold enough for just about anything. Freeze a gallon zip lock baggy of water overnight and set a casserole on top of it. Wrap them both in a big grocery sack for leaks and wrap in a towel or blanket for insulation or put in a cooler. Now with that solved, let's talk food.
I love Shelly's Ricotta Bake. Go to her blog at theworldaccordingtoeggface.blogspot.com/ . Scroll down and on the left side go to her pureed archives. The recipe is there. I loved it and so did my hubby. He paired it with a side of Italian sausage. This is super easy to make in one bowl and pour in to a casserole. It only cooks for a few minutes, so it is really flexible.
She also has a cauliflower cheese bake that is like macncheese without the pasta. All of her recipes rock.
If you do decide to do the deli, you could do tuna salad, seafood or chicken salad, but use caution because the salad dressings often contain more sugar than we can eat.
Merry Christmas.
