I am going into United Hospital tomorrow morning for the removal of at least 1/2 of my thyroid, if not the whole thing (depends on the pathology). The 2 positive things: 1) Dr. Kelly, who did my RNY is doing the the surgery, 2) if it is malignant it is a single treatment of radioactive iodine. NO CHEMO OR ONGOING RADIATION!! I am supposed to be able to come home on Tuesday or Wednesday- so will check in then.

Reenie....what the heck!?!? This day sure came fast. It seems like it was just yesterday when you first told us. I guess Christmas is this week...CRAZY!!! I'll be thinking of you and let us know when you are home.
